"Tell all the truth but tell it slant" I remember my father telling me. Since a little girl, I've been a daddy's girl; when in trouble he comes to my aide, when sad he comforts, when happy he's joyous.
When seventeen, I stole a few things from our neighbor. When I was sitting on the stand telling my side of the story I remembered, "Tell all the truth but tell it slant". The judge decided I needed a little help, so he told me to go home with my father adn just go to a few meetings every month. Once again my father's advice saved me.
I turned twenty-two years old today, sitting on the chair, waiting for my final moment on this earth. I wnder why, why I killed you daddy. But mostly I wonder, with tears running down my face, why daddy you failed me, why you betrayed me, why when I really needed you , you just said "Tell all the truth but the tell it slant".
