Many people share diffrent veiws on teen sex, and there has been alot of conterversy surrounding this subject. In 2001 the legal consent age was lowered to 14. This makes it so before a student even enter highschool, they can legaly have sex. But is this wrong? In my opion the problem lies else where. For example if a girl is 14 and her boyfriend is 17 they can legally have sex, yet if they were both a year older it would be agenist the law. why should it be legal when this cupple is younger, but not after a year of commitment together? I'm not saying it's right for teen's to have sex at a young as such as 14, but i think there are reasons why it is so low. Let's say the cupple in question isn't a cupple at all and let's switch there age's so the boy is 14 and the girl is 17. Say these people get together at a party and the boy takes "advantge" of the girl. In 2000 the legal consent age was 16, so now if the girl was to go to the cops over this, she would be the one to get charged because he is under age. Is this fair? No. I think there is, a problem with the sex age, but it is not how low it is, it's the concent age. I think it would be best if the consent age was switch so cupple in teen years( 14-18) should have to be 3 or less years apart in age. You can not have sex before the age of 14, and after your 18 you can not have sex with a person under 16. This I belive is fair, and shouldn't cause problems for cupples.

Now there is only one problem left. As of now, school's are promoting the used of condom's and safe sex in school. Is it really a good idea to promet sex of, any form in schools? In health class rooms and sex ed, I think it is a good idea's to pormote abtenise and use of condoms. It's naive to belive some students will not have sex in there teen years, yet to just skip teaching abstence would be in bad judgement. when students see posters and hear adults talking about the use of condoms for teens it gives them a impression that sex is commen and shouldn't be resisted. But when they're told about absetence atleast they know they have choices. This is my belife on the subject, these are my morels.
