In the dark night with only the moon to light her way Adriana ran through the woods. Her heart beating so fiercely she thought it would explode out of her chest. She didn't dare look behind her, afraid of what she would see. She started out on a walk and she hadn't planned on going far but she heard that twig snap and a growling sound and she ran. She didn't even know what direction she was running and had no idea how she would get back to the cabin. She went to the cabin for the weekend to get away from all the stress from her job and just to get out of the city and into the quiet. She had been enjoying herself until the walk.
She was running as fast as she possibly could and she swore she heard whatever was behind her breathing. The pain was beginning in her chest now, you know the pain you get when you run to long and to hard. She could hear its feet hitting the ground with each stride it took, it was getting closer. She was scared, goosebumps on her arms, the hair standing on the back of her neck scared. The next thing she knew she was laying on the ground having tripped over a root growing out of the ground. She closed her eyes and waited for whatever chased her to be on her. She felt a shadow over her face and the breath coming out in pants on her face. She thought to herself oh my god I am going to die and I don't know why or by what. She decided that she was going to open her eyes and see what it was. She counted to 10 and her eyes flew open what she saw terrified her. It was a wolf standing over her teeth bared growling. Oh god what am I going to do? But she could do nothing she was so scared she was paralyzed. She stared into the eyes of the wolf. Huh thats weird she thought its eyes were as blue as the ocean and looked human. What the hell why hasn't it killed me she thought. The wolf had stopped growling at her and was staring into her eyes. Then it did the weirdest thing it lowered its head towards her and sniffed her skin by her ear. Adriana was freaking she thought the wolf was going to take a bite out of her and closed her eyes. Then the next thing she knew it was gone. She opened her eyes and looked around there was nothing. She didn't even hear the wolf run off.
