"Momma look! its raining!"Squealed an excited Abigail. Her mom looks out the window and goes"...hmm,so it is .Well, since it's not a thunderstorm,I guess you can go play in it.". Abby hugged her mom and darted outside into the heavy rain. It was coming down so hard she could barely see. In her playful fit of splashing puddles and sliding in the fresh mud, she stopped. Out of nowhere, She couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. She looked around to find the reason of this feeling, finally settling on this blurry silouette at the edge of the woods lining the property. Then a sudden clap of lightning finally illuminated the shadowed figure. A tall, lanky sort of man, about 18, with black eyes that bore into her. Their eyes locked for what seemed like an eternity. The gaze was broken when thunder crackled in the sky, startling Abby. Then she heard her mother call "Abby,Come inside!" Abby took the oppirtunity and ran to her mother. Once the soaked 13-yr old got inside the house, Her mother started to worry "Abby, are you ok? You look frightened.". Abby Looked up and said, almost a whisper "I'm...I'm fine, momma.".Abby then retreated to her room without a word.
Abby closed and locked the door behind her. She wasn't cold, but she couldn't stop shivering, Who was that!? Why is he here? And why was he watching me? The questions burdened her so that she couldn't sleep that night. She tossed and turned as the storm raged on, terrified by the gut-wrenching feeling that something was watching her even then. She turned her head to stare out of the blackened window,as the rain pelted the glass. Then another flash of lighting lit up the sky, revealing the face watching her through the window. She jumped up and let out a blood-curling shreik. She almost tumbled to the floor as she scrambled across her room to the lightswitch.the light suddenly filled the room with a sharp yellow blaze. Turning sharply back toward the window. The face was gone. Abby tried taking deep breaths, in a futile effort to calm her speeding heart. What on earth is wrong with me!? Am I seeing things? She then started to wander the house, trying to gather her wits together. Throughout the house the shrieking wind and hammering rain roared through the immense lack of sound. The more she remembered her isolation, the more frightened she became. Abby had never felt so scared as she did then, as a flash of lighting illuminated the sky, revealing him. His face seemed cold, emotionless. As ligthning continued to strike throughout the furious storm, His lips began to move, contorting his face into a sort of demonic smile, shattering whatever resolve she had left. Screaming, she ran toward her mother's room. Flinging the door open, Abbie dove under the bed. After about 5 or so minutes, some of her violent shaking had subsided. Abby listened for any footsteps throughout the house, but hearing nothing. After a safety peek from under her mother's bed, she at last emerged. "About time you came out from under there." the devious yet somehow unthreatening voice declared behind her. She froze. Abby then turned, slowly, around to see him sitting on her mother's bed.
