I was double checking my checking account just a bit ago to make sure everything was good. Lo' and behold! I made an error in my calculations and instead of a cushion being left in my account I find it overdrafted by $0.21! Naturally I'm frustrated and annoyed by this and worrying about paying a $35 fee for less than a quarter. Wait a minute though, there is one factor I hadn't yet figured in. Best Buy let me pay for expedited shpping on something that couldn't be shipped on time, because of this they are refunding the shipping fee entirely. I remember seeing an email about it so I go to double check and sure enough I find that I'm refunded $26.49. I go look at my statement again and do not find it there, so there is still money not in it. I figure it's probably still processing on PayPal's end and double check those statements, they show that it finished processing on their end at 3:02 this afternoon... This is not good news to me, if they issued it than where is it? So I do the logical thing and call my bank's customer service, history has shown me that the online statement occasionally doesn't update right away. Unfortunately they don't show anything either but they did reassure me that there wouldn't be an overdraft fee for $0.21. They also told me that credits issued to my card can take up to 24 hours to process in order to show up as pending, especially if they go through after 3. Phew. So I should start wondering if I don't see something by tomorrow afternoon. I find it interesting that I messed up and put myself just slightly in the whole but am saved by somebody else making a mistake. Do I call it luck, coincidence, or providence? The universe has mostly been on my side lately and I'm not complaining. I may not believe in providence in the typical sense but I do believe there is a certain balance to things. Not necessarily Karma but similar, I don't think there's a tally kept by the universe to weigh the good against the bad but I have been in an extremely positive mood of late and more positive things have been happening for me since it started.
