It's raining out and it is beautiful. Thinking that has got me to wondering, considering that my element is fire I have to question why I seem to have such an affinity for water. I mean, aren't water and fire opposites even to the point of contradicting one another? So what's the deal here?
Narrow-mindedness really bugs me. I'm from the school of "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" but within reason. I also believe that we have a choice in how we perceive the world and that has a great deal of influence on how things are, less than some would like to think but greater than many others do. It may sound corny but this very line of thinking has brought me to wonder a time or two whether or not I only exist because I think I do. That would be an intriguing paradox, I suppose that would be along similar lines as the cause is the effect and the effect is the cause.
On a related note, before you dismiss another's beliefs as ridiculous or impossible you should stop and consider that as the world changes so do perceptions, ourselves, and the various definitions of reality and that can make something that was impossible or ridiculous yesterday very real today.
I think I'm going to go spend some time meditating, I haven't been doing enough of that lately.
