People referring to 'white' or 'black' magic (or magick for you picky people) in reference to magic being 'good' or 'bad' is something that irritates me a little, not the use of the color differentiation but what they use them to define. Magic is neither 'good' nor 'bad' because magic has no morality, what is 'good' or 'bad' is the one using it or abusing it. Even that is debatable because most people define 'good' and 'bad' by common or personal opinion and there's a lot of flexibility in that.
Take a look at Webster's dictionary as an example. Magic is defined as 'influencing the environment through Satanic means' and that's not even the original definition for the word. The reason it was defined that way is because the dictionary was compiled by somebody that followed a religion that had an issue with magic. That caught on and spread and even those not involved in a religion that looked down on magic began to see it as bad. These days magic is accepted or at least tolerated by most.
I'm sure we all remember the witch trials, those actually happened throughout much of Europe as well as in the colonies because people thought what the people they were dealing with were doing something bad. Now most of society looks at those trials as something bad.
I deviated a little from my original point. My point was, yes there are some things that can be done that aren't right but it is the person and their actions that are wrong not the tool.
I did a small scale aura cleansing for Tina tonight. All I did was push some of the stress out of her aura, nothing big but it took more out of me than it should have since I haven't done any energy working in a while. I actually wasn't entirely sure it would work that well since it has been so long since I've done anything more than cleansing a stone but I could tell just from looking at her that it did and she even told me that she felt less stressed and I never told her what I was doing (I find that you can get more accuracy out of people if you don't tell them, less of a psychological impact and more reality). On one hand I'm disappointed in myself for not keeping up with it and so getting out of shape but on the other hand I'm a little impressed that I was able to do as well as I was while being so out of practice. I need to start doing more energy work, workings as small as that shouldn't have very much impact on me.
