The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

So I went to see The DaVinci Code the other night. After waiting for several months for it to come out and watching all the specials on it, I was looking forward to seeing what all the hype was about. I get there and get my ticket. I get the soda and food and head the theatre. I sit down and watch the trailers.



Then it started. Now as a movie buff I do have to say that I rather enjoyed it. The plot was enough to keep me interested in the movie and there was enough action mixed with suspense to make sure there wasn’t a dull moment. There were some rather cool ideas and concepts as some of the visual effects were rather good, although they had almost nothing to do with the plot.



Now with the church raising such a big stink about the book and the movie I was expecting to see some really cool stuff. Without a doubt the church put WAY more hype into this film then was needed. If they would have just been quiet and let things slide, the movie most likely wouldn’t have made as much money as it did.



Now I am not taking sides on any part here, but I am only going to tell the facts as I see them. (Do take note that these are how I see the facts)



Fact:

Over the years the church has seen fit to rewrite the bible several times. Being that the bible is a series of books, it is hard to say what is supposed to be part of the bible or not. There has been do much rewritten and whole books removed all together.



Fact:

In the painting of ‘The Last Supper’ there is a lot left to the desecration of the viewer. Of course DaVinci did this with a lot of his paintings.



Fact:

No one, living, was around back the to give an exact accounting to what happened. So all we have to go on is the speculation of what can get gathered from history and the ‘Holy Bible’



Fact:

Although there some rather interesting points made in the book, even the book claims that it is a story.



This tells me that a rather good story was made with facts and a really cool twist was added to make it all the more worth reading. Just it shows an idea that goes against the church. So why all the protests and yelling? Of course the people bitching about this book/movie are the ones claiming that the ‘Harry Potter’ books/movies teach children how to use witchcraft.



Isn’t the church just trying to censor us where the government failed? Isn’t this a little too close to book burning? Didn’t we fight for our freedom to choose what we wanted to believe? What right does the church have to so loudly protest such a thing?



Opps here I go again. Thinking for myself. And worse yet asking everyone else to do the same.

So the current news is that “The DaVinci Code” is about to open nation wide and some of the churches are all in a whoop to do about it. They claim that is makes false claims about the Holy Bible and the word of God. Okay I have to say “WHAT THE FUCK” about that. People it is only a movie. A movie. People go to it and watch it for entertainment value. HELLO!!!! I mean if you were going to make a fuss about a movie bashing the bible, don’t you think that there are far more worthy movies to go after? Just look at all the vampire movies out there. Then there are the Hellraiser movies and almost everything from “Full Moon Entertainment”.



I’ve read the book, I’ve watched the documentaries, hell even looked into some of the little tid-bits myself. It is a story loosely based around facts and theories to create a rather good story. “But it makes the church look bad in the eyes of the public. They might believe that we are really hiding something.” Uuuummm the church has had a questionable rep sense the inquisition several hundred years ago. Also why are you worries that the general public thinks you are hiding something? Are you hiding something? Isn’t it up to each person to choose what want to believe in?



Hell if the church wants to bitch about anything how about something that really matters like “The Patriot Act”. Of course I wouldn’t put it past the anal butt monkeys of the U.S. government to have a file (or be starting one) on me just for this little rant. It seems that the wonderful act has taken away our freedom. To quote Bush, “To remain free we must loose some of our freedoms.” WHAT THE HELL IS THAT??? Is it me or does that sentence make no sense at all?



It seems that our own government is telling phone companies to give over personal call records of Americans so they can look over them. They claim that it is to find terrorists hiding in the U.S. Of course this is only one of countless breaches of personal freedom that have been taken away from us.



I, myself am getting really fucking tired with all the bullshit in the airports. Over the past 2 years I have flown no less then 20 times. And EVERY fucking time airport security felt the need to search my bags. EVERY FUCKING TIME. Okay I can understand and accept the chainmail I make raising an eyebrow or three, but it is not on the list. I can understand needing to take the jewellery pliers. I mean who knows a trained ninja might be able to use them as a weapon. But when I was returning from Los Vegas and I had about $30 in quarters in my backpack, is that a real reason to stop and search through my underwear? I mean heaven forbid should I decide to, oh say, but something from a vending machine, where a 20 ounce bottle of coke costs $3. They must have a photo of me and my ID on record with a note that says to search my stuff no matter what.



And when does a search require the person to look through the songs on my MP3 player? “Oh no, he had Arabic music on his MP3 player!! He must be a terrorist!”. This is getting just stupid. First off if I wanted to sneak a weapon into an airport, trust me there are MORE then enough openings to do so. Not to mention, I’m of the type that likes to live. So a bombing on a plane is not my style. Now a rocket launcher at the end of the runway is something far more entertaining.



Why the hell am I writing this? The answer is simple. The government has no brains. Some asshole thought of what were to be key words for what could be seen as a possible threat to the government. Should these combination of words be said, wrote or whatnot, they are recorded and then looked over. Some of theses words are BOMB, PRESIDENT, PARTY, TERRORIST, REVENGE, GOD, and a few others. I find it funny that the TRUTH, HONESTY, FREEDOM are not on the words that threaten them. Still now that I have types those words, some low paying government worker now needs to read this whole rant and decide if it is a threat to the government. Also because of it they would record a lot of what I say and write over the next 6 months just to make sure I am not a terrorist.



Yes let’s spend a lot of money looking into the history and political views of someone like me and just forget about people, who shall remain unnamed, who claimed to be the ones who planed it. When did the general public elect to sit back and let the government control our lives?
