Comment: Great profile, I especially like the css coding that went into it. Oh, and your avatar's pretty cool.
Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates Orthodox Easter, like me. :)

I'm sunburned and grumpy. I just spent 4 hours at the baseball field for opening day, and was tempted to test my batting abilities on the coach's wife's head. That's twice in two weeks that woman has ticked me off almost to the point of violence, and I'm a laid back person who rarely ever resorts to violence. She's gotten Daniel so upset that he refuses to ever go to another one of Cole's games or practices. Wonderful "team mom" they've got there, huh? I swear, the woman needs a lesson in tact.
On a brighter note, Cole scored the first point for his team in the second inning. And...I caught it on video. :)
Holy flippin' hell! On Facebook, I just found the girl that lived across the street from me while I was growing up. She was probably my best childhood friend. We got into so much trouble together when we were young. When I moved we lost touch, so it's been about 16 years since I've talked to her.
She and I just spent 3 hours catching up. I can't believe how much has gone on in her life that I've missed.
Yes, I'm still new enough to Facebook that occurrences like this shock me. I've only been a member there for a little over a week. :)
I did it. Even though I wasn't going to, and I'm sure that I'll catch a ton of flack for it from everyone, I did it anyway. You know what? I don't care! Yes, I bought the Twilight DVD. I enjoy the movie. I enjoyed the books. I'm looking forward to the second movie.
No, I don't necessarily agree with the choices for actors, but it wasn't my call to make. No, I don't think that vampires should sparkle, but that was part of the book and I accepted it there, so I accepted it in the movie as well. It was just...different. I can understand that Stephenie Meyer wanted to do something different with her vampires. She certainly accomplished that.
As far as comparing the book and the movie, well, it just shouldn't be done. A movie will never, ever be as good as a book, in my opinion, because they aren't the same. A movie is a condensed version of the story with all of the characters and scenery laid out bare for you to see. A book gives you 300 plus pages of black text on a white page in which to form your own character images and scenery in your mind's eye.
But you know what? I liked the movie. Liked it enough to rent it OnDemand the day it came out, then to rent it from RedBox and watch it 3 times in the 24-hour rental period, and then to buy the DVD the next day and watch it another 3 times in the 2 days following the purchase. I'm sure I'll watch it several more times in the following days. So there! :P
Just a quick update on the cat from last night's entry. It was still hanging around outside my back door when I got up this morning, but my step-father (thinking he was doing me a favor) chased it away when he came over this morning to steal my Sunday newspaper. It hasn't been back since. I hope it didn't get hit by a car or anything. :(
In other news...
I've been wished a Happy Easter more times than I care to count, which irritates me because almost everyone I know knows that I celebrate Orthodox Easter, which isn't until next week. It's not really the well wishes that bother me so much as it is the fact that every time someone says it, it makes me feel like an oddball for celebrating a different holiday.
Speaking of Easter.... I don't understand why all of the stores here close for the day. I guess I'm still in the New York mindset, where the only holidays that warrant a store closing are Christmas and New Years. I guess that people here are more religious than New Yorkers? I don't know, but it was frustrating for me because I went out to do my grocery shopping earlier (as I do every Sunday) and couldn't find any open stores. Oh well, I guess. I'll just have to do the shopping tomorrow.
There's a cute little orange and white tabby cat sitting outside my house meowing. It's been at my back door for the last two hours. I have no clue where it came from, but it doesn't look like a stray. It's clean and well fed. I want so badly to open the door and let it in, because that's the kind of person that I am, but I just can't do it. First, my lease doesn't allow pets. Second, it's not an expense I can afford right now. Still, it breaks my heart to think that the poor thing might be lost and just needs someone to love it until its owners can be found. :(

I am the same way. There are so many kitties around here, some look malnourished, others look fat and healthy. I want to bring all of them in, but I can just imagine some little girl crying out for her kitty.
I'm especially worried about this poor little cat because we have a stray dog that hangs around our neighborhood that isn't very nice.
Dammit! Just my luck, they decided to play that super sad ASPCA commercial right this second. Now I feel even worse. :(
