Some two and a half thousand years before the birth of Sigmar, the ancient civilization of Nehekhara dwelt along the banks of the great river in Araby. Of all the kings of Nehekhara, none could match the splendour, cruelty and arrogance of Settra, first Priest King of Khemri. Under his inspired leadership and unparalleled ruthlessness, the many kings of Nehekhara were conquered and forced to pay tribute and acknowledge Khemri as the greatest city of the land. But Settra was unsatisfied, knowing that one day death would rob him of all he had accomplished. In his arrogance he vowed that the grave would not claim him and proclaimed that he would cheat death, setting his wisest and most powerful priests towards working on a means of preventing his passing. Soon all of Nehekhara became preoccupied with death and the afterlife, building many huge temples and monuments to the dead. These huge tombs became so frequent and huge that the rulers blocked them all into the giant cities of the dead called Necropoli.
It was into this culture that Nagash was born, brother of the Priest king of Khemri. Nagash was obsessed with death from an early age and took to wandering the Necropoli for many days at a time, entering the oldest tombs. He observed the morticians as they prepared the dead for internment. He watched wounded warriors fade and die, resolving never to let himself die. Nagash took to unspeakable experiments in his quest for immortality and soon all the citizens of Khemri shunned him. Nagash's experiments met with limited success, he prolonged his life so that he didn't die even thought he still aged, but there was something missing, something that evaded Nagash. But then, when a group of dark elves were blown off-course and captured by the Khemri navy, Nagash (as the brother of the priest king) was allowed to ingratiate himself with one of the elves, a sorcerer. He made a more than apt pupil and soon distilled an elixir made from human blood that made him immortal (with constant consumption).
He shared his elixir with depraved noble men, building support for himself before he finally killed his brother and seized power in Khemri. He and his immortal supporters soon became overconfident and killed many of citizens of Khemri before constructing the Black Pyramid, the largest structure ever built by man. Slowly the other priest kings became afraid of Nagash and formed a confederation against him. After nearly a century of warfare Nagash's power was broken and he fled north to avoid destruction. Unknown to the priest kings however, Nagash rebuilt his power and constructed a vast citadel that became known as Nagashizzar.
The ruler of the city of Lahmia, Queen Neferata had been part of the confederation against Nagash and was with her army when Khemri fell and Nagash fled, she entered the Black Pyramid with her troops and came across a copy of the nine Books of Nagash. Fascinated by the power promised within, she began to practice the magic of necromancy that was contained in the book. She eventually created an elixir which would give her eternal youth. However, after drinking it her heart stopped beating forever, and she craved to drink human blood. She gathered before her eleven worthy individuals, and gave to them each a portion of the elixir. In Lahmia were born the Master Vampires, those from whom all vampires are descended. Each of the twelve masters (Nefereta included) bore particular traits, and they could expand their lineage by creating vampire servants, but through each successive generation, the powers of the vampire weakened.
The vampires in Lahmia terrorized the populace and defiled the ancient gods of Nehekhara. The ruler of Nehekhara, King Alcadizaar the Great, feared the wrath of the gods, and made war on Lahmia. The vampires defended their homeland but were ultimately pushed back to Lahmia itself. Alcadizaar's armies then broke through the gates of Lahmia and set about the city. The library of Lahmia, the centre of the vampires' lore and knowledge, was defended stoically by some vampires, who were slain and died in the flames. Accepting Lahmia as lost, the vampires fled north. Of the twelve Masters, only seven survived the sacking of Lahmia.
Heading north the remaining vampire masters encountered Nagash, who was secretly pleased with the havoc they had wreaked. Making them his captains, they lead the Undead into Nehekhara. The might of Nagash combined with the power of the vampires was awesome to behold, but they faced one of the greatest leaders of all time, Alcadizaar the Great. Through a brilliant campaign, he personally smashed the Undead armies, and set the vampires fleeing from Nehekhara. Nagash, furious at being defeat, cursed the Vampires to be burnt by the rays of the sun. The Vampire Masters separated and fled into hiding.
Nagash then unleashed a plague upon Nehekhara, many thousands die and were raised to swell the ranks of undead at Nagash's control. Nagash used this new army to invade Nehekhara, he captured Alcadizaar and took him back to Nagashizzar in chains. After consuming masive amounts of warpstone Nagash began the Ritual of the Waking to transform the whole world into a undead realm. Fearing destruction the skaven of Cripple Peak free Alcadizaar, who then kills Nagash and flees with the crown of sorcery

There are five distinct families of vampires, each descending from one of the "first vampires" or original ones created by Nagash or Neferata (more recent lore stating vampirism was formulated by Nagash and first attained by Neferata), these families are called "Bloodlines," each with different characteristics that affect the way the armies of each operate, although it must be noted that the more powerful members of any vampire bloodline can cast spells, and that all vampires are formidable in combat.
the bloodlines (yet mixable as though having aspects of may bloodlines). The known vampire bloodlines are as follows:
* Von Carstein
These vampires are somewhat stereotypical vampires, modeled very much in the manner of Dracula. They are seen as having close bonds with animals such as Wolves and Bats. these vampires have no particular modifications and several of their bloodline powers emphasize their ties with animals. They are hereditary rulers of Sylvania.
The von Carsteins have been prevalent throughout the recent history of the vampire counts, and are the only bloodline to openly go to war with the Empire. The blood line was created by Vlad when he married Isabella on the night that Otto (her fathere and the then count of Sylvania) died (though his history before that is unclear) He came closest to destroying the Empire, only being defeated in a duel with the Grand Theogonist, on the walls of Altdorf. After Vlad was killed there were five remaining claimants for the thrown of Sylvania: Fritz was killed while attempting to besiege Middenheim, Hans was killed in a quarrel instigated by Konrad, Pieter was slain by witch hunter Helmut van Hal (rumor at the time suggested Mannfred led him to Pieter's lair), and Mannfred left Sylvania to travel in search of Necromantic lore. Konrad, who had no ambitions other than mindless and bloody slaughter, wasted no time in marauding across half the Empire and even attacking the Dwarfs of Zhufbar until he was destroyed at Grim Moor. Mannfred then returned to Sylvania and bided his time, rebuilding the bloodline after Konrad nearly destroyed it. Mannfred then attacked Altdorf but was forced to retreat; after a long backwards and forwards chase he was defeated at Hel Fenn, where prince Martin claimed to have killed him, but rumors persist that this is not the case.
* Blood Dragons
Blood Dragons are fallen Knights, usually from the realm of Bretonnia. They are portrayed as souls in suffering, neither good nor evil. their combat skill are hightend at the expense of spell-casting abilities.
Abhorash was the greatest warrior of Lahmia and held honour above all else, so much so that when Neferata tainted the nobles of her court with vampirism Abhourash had to be tricked into drinking her blood, he initually refused to feed on the blood of his own people but eventualy his thirst grew so great that he slaughtered a dozen men and women in one night of gore. Abhorash was at the front of Lahmia's defence when the priest kings attacked and slew hundreds of warriours until the steps of the royal palace were covered in blood. But despite his great fightinfg abilaties Lhamia fell and as the vampires fled destruction Aborash cursed his arogent brothers who had drought destruction upon his city, he set out, followed by only afew zelous disiples, in exile. He taught this followers that skill in close combat and honour in battle were the only measures of greatness and would only drink from great fighters, saying that only the impure fed on the weak. Eventually his travels took him to a great mountain wreathed with fire, ignoring the advice of his followers Abhorash scaled the side of the mountain. As he reached its summit a red dragon of immense size emerged from the crater and descended upon the Vampire Lord. At the prospect of testing his martial abilities, Abhorash drew his sword and prepared to fight the great wyrm. The two fought the entire night and in the end the Vampire was victorious. As the dragon lashed in its death throes, Abhorash seized its throat with his fangs and drank deep. Intoxicated by the blood of the dragon Abhorash cast the carcass of the broken creature down from the mountain top. His search had ended, he no longer craved the lifeblood of men and had become the ultimate warrior, a man with the strength of a Vampire who had no need for blood. Other famous Blood Dragons include: Walach Harkon (who challenged and defeated the entire Order of the Blood Dragon single-handedly), The Red Duke and Varison the Blade.
* Lahmians
This bloodline is (almost) entirely female, and no male models have been released. They are descended from Neferata, the original vampire. They emphasize the seductive nature of vampires and many of their bloodline powers center around influencing the behavior of enemys they are given greater speed at the expense of their combat potential.
Neferata was queen of the city-state of Lamia, now she rules over silver pinnacle, as the leader of a sisterhood of enchantingly beautiful vampires who use secrecy, cunning and intrigue where others would use brute strength, these can use their subtlety to sway political powers to do their will. The talons of the Lahmians reach all levels of human society and they take an active interest in human affairs. No one can guess how many eccentric noblewomen, widows of princes and dukes, and high-born ladies who shun the light of day and lock themselves up in tall towers and opulent palaces, are in truth of the Undead.
* Necrarch
Necrarch vampires appear monstrous and wizened, very much on the mold of the vampire shown in the classic film Nosferatu. In terms of skill they are weaker in combat but have much greater magical potential than the other vampire bloodlines. However it should be noted their physical strength is still on a similar level to other vampires, their disadvantage being a poorer weapon skill. Overall they are still vastly more dangerous than an equivalent level wizard in close combat, and on par with the more dangerous of melee fighters. They are described as solitary researchers, working on ever more terrible spells as they live out their undying centuries. Because of their studies the Necrarch armies field large numbers of necromantic constructs, spellcasters, and zombie dragons.
Necrarchs claim descent from W'soran, who they revere as the father of Vampires, with the fall of Lahmia the kingdom of Vampires came to an end and the Great Library of Lahmia was burned to the ground. The accumulated knowledge of ancient Nehekhara was destroyed and many disciples of W'soran died in the flames, reluctant to abandon their work. However a handful of Necrarchs fled and survived the pursuit of the armies of the kings of Numas and Zandri, taking with them books and scrolls and other fragments of the dark lore that Nagash created. They scattered all over the world hiding themselves to patiently wait for the death of their enemies and continue their studies. It is implied they are still in the servitude of Nagash, or are attempting to conduct a spell similar to the one he used to decimate Nehekhara and awaken the dead therein. Their progenitor was W'soran, and their previous master Melkhior was known to have served Nagash closely.
* Strigoi
Strigoi were first introduced in the 16oo sentury thay are the a newest bloodline. In appearance they are even more monstrous than the Necrarchs and are huge and heavily built. The Strigoi are animalistic, half-mad and barely intelligent. In human terms they have similar combat potential to the Blood Dragons, but in terms of strength and bestial fury rather than skill-at-arms. The tradeoff is an inability to use steeds, weapons or armor. An interesting note is that Strigoi are a type of Romanian vampire based on the striga--but there is little resemblance between the myth and the bloodline.
Strigoi armies contain little undead, bolstered by large numbers of Ghouls and their champions. Their progenitor, Ushoran, snubbed the other vampire masters to establish his own empire in Strigos, situated in what is now the Badlands. When the capital Mourkain was sacked by a war. the Strigoi vampires sought out their fellow vampires, who shunned them for Ushoran's snobbery. They then degenerated into the feral beasts they are now. Unlike other vampires, Strigoi mainly drink the blood of the freshly dead instead of the living.
* Sartosa
Introduced in mid 1352 bc.
When the body of Luthor Harhon was unwittingly taken on board the long boat of Norse raiders and taken to Lustria, he created an undead realm known as the Vampire coast of zombie pirates from shipwrecks that became feared pirates and attacked the lizard men of Huatl.
A large peace on a guy called Nagash.
Nagash rose from the ranks of the ancient order of Mortuary Priests of Khemri. He was a man of great magical aptitude, obsessed with the search for immortality. Despite his rank of High Priest in the order of the Mortuary Priests and being well versed in the sorceries of Nehekara, he lacked the necessary knowledge to achieve eternal life. It is said that a group of Dark Elf captives changed this. One among their kind was a sorceress. She revealed everything she knew about Dark Magic to the High Priest of Khemri, and with this knowledge Nagash began to fashion his own twisted branch of magic.
Nagash learned of the Chaos Gate in the far North and the Winds of Magic that blew from it, and how they could be harnessed by a careful practitioner. Unlike the sorceries of Khemri, which relied on the intercession of gods, Nagash learned that mortals could manipulate magic for themselves into spells or to create magical items. In particular he learned of Dhar, the wind of Dark Magic, and of how it sometimes coagulated into warpstone.
Nagash became one of the few humans to truly master Dark Magic. When the Dark Elf sorceress had outlived her usefulness, Nagash defeated her in a magical duel, blinded her, removed her tongue, arms and feet and buried her alive within his Black Pyramid. He continued to live uprightly by day, but secretly he was dealing with daemons and summoning spirits to aid him in further research. In so doing he learned many great secrets.
After the death of their father, Khetep (first of the 3rd dynasty of rulers in great Nehekhara), Nagash's brother Thutep took to the throne, becoming the ruler of all Nehekhara. But Nagash had other plans. One night, as the clouds smothered the sky, Nagash slew his own brother, entombing him with their father. The next morning, his hands still covered with the blood of his brother, Nagash claimed the throne of Nehekhara for himself. As there was none other to gainsay him, the ascension was not contested.
Nagash started perfecting his own branch of Dark Magic, which he called Necromancy. This magic gave him great power over death, allowing him to extend his lifespan and reanimate the bodies of the dead. Nagash ruled Khemri with fear, and forced countless slaves to labour for fifty years to build the greatest pyramid in Khemri from black stone, which would come to be known as the Black Pyramid of Nagash - a beacon to attract the winds of black magic to Nehekhara.
Nagash penned all of his knowledge and findings within nine tomes bound in human flesh and flourished with human blood. These works became known as the Nine Books of Nagash, and though they are lost today, they have reappeared at various times throughout history, always in the employ of notorious beings. Zacharias the Everliving, the great vampire lord of the Necrarch bloodline, is said to carry one, and it seems likely Mannfred Von Carstein possessed one. It is likely, though not known, that Queen Lahmia has one in her lair in the World's Edge Mountains, and others still could be circulating undetected within the world.
:DarkOmen, it is revealed that a Book of Nagash, called the Liber Mortis, is in the possession of the High Theonogist of Sigmar, located in Altdorf.
With his promises of immortality and great power, Nagash was able to lead many of the people of Nehekhara away from their old ways to follow him instead. Most notable among these was Arkhan the Black, Nagash's chief lieutenant, and nearly a third of the Priests of Khemri. The other Kings of Nehekhara however were aghast at the reign of terror which Nagash had begun. Enraged at the corruption which he had created, and in fear of the wrath of the gods, the kings from seven other, lesser cities allied themselves in order to remove Nagash from his throne. A powerful army was raised to march on the legions of Khemri.
But Nagash was not to be so easily defeated. Using his Necromancy, he raised an army of the undead, a horde of skeletons to destroy the attacking armies. Such a thing was unheard of, and in the death obsessed culture of Nehekhara, it was recognized as the greatest of obscenities. Hundreds fled, terrified by the thoughts of battle versus the departed, however all was not lost. Although many did flee the sight of the dead army, the forces of the other kings rallied and Nagash was ultimately defeated, but not slain.
As Arkhan, the greatest swordsman of his time, gave his life to protect his master, Nagash fled to the northeast to plot his revenge against the lands of his birth in the Cursed Pit of Nagashizaar. It was generally decided at that time that all that Nagash had wrought during his accursed reign should be destroyed. Great fires consumed much of what Nagash had done and written--his precious Nine tomes were believed to be among the ashes, though a very few copies managed to escape the wreckage. That all of his tomes were not destroyed would eventually come back to haunt Khemri and Nehekhara, just as the shadow of the Black Pyramid, which could not by any means be unmade, haunted it constantly.
The Great Necromancer
During his time of exile in the desert, it is thought Nagash came to the very point of death - only to cheat it and emerge as a Liche, the greatest of his kind, greater than even the most ancient Liche Priests of the Mortuary Cult. He came to Cripple Peak and discovered there a secret deposit of warpstone. It was here that he began to perfect the art later known as Necromancy.
Within the mountain, Nagash's Undead minions built his abode, a fortress-city to inspire terror and awe the world over--Nagashizzar. The mountain's highest peak was its tower. Nagash learned how to manipulate the warpstone, and forged many of his famed artifacts of power, including his wretched sword Mortis, the Crown of Sorcery, and his Black Armour. Prolonged exposure to the mutagenic warp stone warped Nagash's body into a hideous monster, no longer human. It increased his size and his strength, but left him little more than a walking skeleton wrapped in black armour.
Such a large amount of warpstone drew other creatures, namely Skaven, who fought a massive war against Nagash for control of Cripple Peak. The Skaven armies were vast, and their magic of their Grey Seers and the Council of 13 was mighty, but Nagash's almost perfected magic was even more so. For nearly a century, the Skaven and the armies of Nagash fought to a stalemate, with the Skaven never being able to take Cripple Peak for their own, but Nagash was unable to drive the Skaven away and complete his own plans. Nagash eventually offered a truce with the Skaven though: he would give them warpstone if they would lure several orc tribes into the pits beneath his fortress. Wary of his plans, the Skaven agreed.
For hundreds of years the kings continued to rule Nehekhara much as they had before. In Lahmia the reigning Queen Neferata came across a copy of one of the Books of Nagash. She was captivated by the dark lore contained within and began studying Necromancy.
Finally driven, by her quest for immortality, to make a pact with Nagash, she took an elixir distilled from his own blood. The moment the elixir reached her lips, Neferata's fate was sealed. She had chosen damnation and exile--as had her predecessor and mentor, Nagash. Her heart stopped beating, and she became more than human while also becoming something less than human. She became the first true vampire. Neferata gathered to her the eleven greatest minds and champions of Lahmia, and gave to them each a portion of this elixir. They were the Master Vampires, from whom all other vampires in the world are descended.
Fearful of the wrath of the Gods, the famed King Alcadizaar of Khemri gathered together all the armies of Nehekhara and waged war on the twisted queen. Despite the powerful magics unleashed by the vampires, the threat of Lahmia was crushed by a huge army mustered by Alcadizaar. The queen fled Lahmia with a retinue of the six remaining Master Vampires she had created. Those who fled were met by Nagash in the mountains of the north, and he embraced them as spawns of his own corrupt magic. These vampires became his captains. Nagash sent these undying warriors to make war with Nehekhara at the head of a mighty army of skeletons.
But Nagash had underestimated his former countrymen. Alcadizaar the Conqueror was the greatest general of his age (the 6th dynasty of Nehekhara) -- and some argue the greatest King to ever rule Khemri -- and led a unified army against the Undead invaders. After many years of bloody war the hordes of Nagash were pushed back. As such the Vampire Masters decided to flee, with only W'soran remaining at Nagash's side eager for more necromantic lore. Nagash was furious and cursed all vampire kind to forever more burn in the rays of the sun.
So bitter and evil was Nagash that he decided that if he was not allowed to rule all of Nehekhara then no-one would. He concluded that it was better to slay everything in Nehekhara than see it ruled by someone else. The first part of his plan was to get his Skaven allies to pollute the river Vitae, whose life-giving water the people depended upon. After he had tainted the river it became black and foul, and has since been renamed the River Mortis. Soon after the corruption of the Vitae pestilence ravaged the lands of Nehekhara.
Alcadizaar was forced to watch as first those he loved died, including his wife and children and then watched his beloved kingdom crumble before him. When a new army of the undead invaded Nehekhara, it was led by W'soran and Arkhan, whom Nagash had resurrected as a powerful Liche. The meek defences put up to stop the invasion were easily thwarted and Alcadizaar himself was captured by the fell beasts. He was not executed, but instead he was thrown into a cell in Nagashizzar to await torture.
It was now, with Alcadizaar imprisoned and Nehekhara on its knees, that Nagash incepted his evil plan. He began to weave one of the most powerful spells ever attempted. At the pinnacle of his power, Nagash unleashed a tidal wave of sorcerous energy which washed over the land for hundreds of miles, causing everything that was living to decay and die, and all that was dead to rise again. Nagash planned to use his necromantic powers to raise the entire population of Nehekhara as an unstoppable army, which he would use to conquer the entire world. Had it not been for the treachery of his allies, there is little doubt he would have succeeded.
The Skaven leaders, the Council of Thirteen, watching from afar, realized the threat posed by this latest development. With the armies of all the dead of Nehekhara, they knew Nagash would become invincible, and they certainly would be the first to face this unstoppable army of the undead, and immediately moved to protect themselves. Not wanting to risk their own lives in an attempt on Nagash, the decision was made to free the imprisoned Alcadizaar and to give him a weapon so powerfull it would take the wielders life (and thus spare any of the Council from having to face Nagash) was made. A powerful blade was forged from stolen gromril ore and pure warpstone, a blade so lethal it would eventually prove as fatal to the the wielder as to the target this sword was destinctive because of the two warpstone dragons that garded it from most peopls use. This was the Fellblade. Infiltrating Nagashizzar, the hooded Skaven agents freed Alcadizaar from his captivity and handed him the blade, before departing without a word.
Still weak from the power he had exerted casting his immensely powerful spell, Nagash was recovering when Alcadizaar stumbled into his throne room. Surprising Nagash in his moment of weakness, Alcadizaar severed Nagash's right hand. Stumbling back, Nagash unleashed deadly magics at Alcadizaar. As he did so, his hand ran off into the shadows, crawling like a huge spider. However fatigued, Nagash drew himself to full height and a titanic battle between the two kings ensued.
The Council of Thirteen, watching the battle unfold, joined their magic powers together to protect their pawn from Nagash's onslaught, even as they died to thwart it. Finally Alcadizaar prevailed, breaking Nagash's spine, and chopping the Great Necomancer into a pile of shattered bone and dust. The Skaven agents returned, gathered Nagash's remains and burnt them in the fires he had built, scattering his ashes across the world. Nagash's hand escaped unnoticed--the dreaded Claw of Nagash.
Looking out across the land at his destroyed people, Alcadizaar fell into despair. He took Nagash's crown and stumbled around his empty kingdom being driven mad by his ordeal and the warpstone blade of the Skaven. He tossed the blade into the landscape, fell into the river, and drowned.
Nagash's return
One of the also unforeseen effects of Nagash's spell was that the old, long dead kings of Nehekhara were brought back to life. However without the Great Necromancer's will to command them, they retained their free will, and were tended to by the Priests who it seems had finally reached their prophesied immortality. Thus, ironically through Nagash's attempt to destroy the lands of Nehekhara, he had given them a cruel mockery of life, creating the realms of the tomb kings.
Though his body was broken and destroyed, Nagash's spirit endured. Drawn along with the winds of Dark Magic to his Black Pyramid, the remains of Nagash's body, speck by tiny speck was eventually recovered 1,162 years later. When he rose, he found the lands of Nehekhara defended by jealous undead kings with armies of skeletons equal to anything he could muster. Nagash challenged the reigning king of Khemri, the first King Settra, for the rule of Nehekhara. Settra and the other Kings, furious at what Nagash had done, drove Nagash from his own country. They were no longer afraid of the skeletons which he could summon, for they had all become equally frightening.
Returning to his fortress, Nagash found the Skaven had mined most of the warpstone away. Nevertheless, in one night, he drove all the Skaven from Cripple Peak. The Skaven, realizing that they had mined nearly all the warpstone and now their ranging around the world had found more and richer sources of warpstone, decided they did not want another war with Nagash and to the most part, left Cripple Peak for good.
Nagash, still weak from his death, realised he needed his old magical artifacts to reassert his power, including his stolen crown. So Nagash forged a new hand to replace his missing one out of a warpstone alloy. The crown had been taken north into the Badlands, where it fell into the hands of orcs who raided across the Black Mountains and seemingly disappeared. Nagash led a great army into the nascent Empire to reclaim it but was defeated and slain by Sigmar at the Battle of the River Reik. According to Mannfred von Carstein, Nagash's defeat at the hands of Sigmar resulted in a curse laid upon all vampires: for their refusal to come to his aid, they would forever be driven back against the power of Sigmar.
In BC 2515 (two and a half millennia after the formation of the Empire) The powerful Orc Warlord Azhag the Slaughterer was killed in combat with Seneschal Kessler of the Knights Panther. His crown, which gave him sorcerous powers as well as nightmarish visions , was taken to Altdorf and sealed in the Imperial vaults, where it remains to the present day. It is something of an open secret among readers of the background that this item is the crown of Nagash.
Nagash once again returned to life, 1,666 years after his death at the hands of Sigmar, in the night known as the Night of the Restless Dead. It is thought he is again re-building his power. Though only a fraction of his former self, he is still one of the most powerful beings in existence, worshipped by some as the god of Necromancy. He knows he cannot be reckless again, so he bides his time until he can once more take on the world.
It's believed that he is currently enacting his will in the world through the manipulation of others, in particular Lichmaster Heinrich Kemmler and his henchman Krell, and even Mannfred Von Carstein, who had a talisman from Khemri origin that Nagash previously used to have complete control over the undead.
And some more info on him and others to all who read this I have no dout that most of this is real events that have been coverd up I risk my life wrighting this so enjoy and to my brother this is more then I like to know cos its off my serch fore my famaly.
Kemmler was a master Necromancer, leading huge legions of the undead, with his own corte of ambitious appretinces. As they grew they became rivals and one day attacked their master. Kemmler fled them, nearly breaking his body and mind in the process. For years he wandered the World's Edge Mountains on the run, until he stumbled upon the tomb of Krell, a powerful champion of Chaos in life, and later returned to Undeath by Nagash himself to become one of the 'Dark Lord of Nagash'. Krell was defeated after Sigmar's banishing of his master and entombed in a secret location. There Kemmler struck a pact with the Chaos gods to restore his power in return for spreading death and destruction in their name. They also granted him Krell as a gift--a powerful Wight Lord accomplice and bodyguard. Now the name of the Lichemaster once again strikes fear into the hearts of mortals, though with the shadowy hand of Nagash guiding them from behind the scenes... A Recent event involing the two was the infamous battle at la Masiontaal abbey where a Bretonnian monk stole a warpstone artifact from Skavenblight, home of the ratmen. Kemmler seeing the warpstone as potentially being very helpful in his own sorceries attacked the monk's home abbey at the same time as the Skaven did, seeking to take back their property. With the arrival of Bretonnian reinforcements the famous three way battle ended with the Skaven taking their property back and Kemmler driven off by the knights of Bretonnia. Even more recent was the 'Winter of Woe', a campaign against the Wood Elves where Kemmler tried to harness the power of the ancient standing stones in their woodland home. Attacking during winter, when the gods incarnate of the Wood Elves were in hibernation, gave the Necromancer great advantage over his living foes. Thanks to the assistance the famous treeman Druthu and other native spirits of the wood, the Necromancer was driven off, but not before causing serious damage to the forest.
* Nagash
Nagash is the first and greatest of all Necromancers. His power is unrivaled, and his knowledge vast, spanning the course of centuries. His lair is Nagashizzar, a region where the living fear to go. Because of the effects of centuries of Warpstone consumption, Nagash stands well over 15 feet tall. He carries the great sword Mortis, and wears armour fashioned himself out of Meteoric Iron, called the Black Armour of Nagash. Nagash was originally taught the basics of the Black Art from captured Dark Elf sorceresses of Dark Magic who were marooned on the coastline of ancient Nehekhara.
* Krell
A gift from the Chaos gods to Heinrich Kemmler, Krell was once a Chaos warrior, and now he serves the Lichemaster in a terrible mockery of life. More fearsome now than he was in life, Krell serves as Kemmler's bodyguard.
* Arkhan the Black
The first general and most powerful pupil of Nagash. He was slain covering Nagash's retreat from the city of Khemri. The beauty of Necromancy means though that he was brought back later by Nagash's foul craft.
* Dieter Hellsnicht, Doomlord of Middenheim
* Genevieve Dieudonné - a vampire who appears in a number of novels by Jack Yeovil
* Von Carstein vampires
o Vlad - Probably the most notable of the Von Carstein Counts, he was a very noble, but very cold man. He waited for hundreds of years for the perfect time to strike the Empire, and when he marched on Altdorf, his victory looked assured. His army was massive. Vlad's crucial mistake was taking the Grand Theongist on in single combat. The night before, Empire operatives had managed to steal Vlad's talismanic ring, the ring it is said, that while he possessed he could not be killed. The battle ended when the Grand Theongist thrust himself into Vlad, dragging him from the battlements of Altdorf in a deathly embrace. The two were impaled on the moat of stakes which had been placed around the city.
*
o Isabella - The devoted wife and lover of Vlad von Carstein, she was as noble as Vlad, but also more cruel. She regarded the living with a level of contempt which her sire did not. Upon receiving news of Vlad's final death, rather than spend an eternity alone, she cast herself from the walls of Drakenhof.
*
o Konrad - The second most powerful of Vlad's gets, Konrad greedily assumed the throne after Vlad died, as Mannfred, Vlad's firstborn, mysteriously vanished following the incident. Konrad was a terrible ruler, he had respect for no one, and nothing. He was given to a terrible temper as well. While he ruled at Drakenhof, there was a terrible waste of blood. The devoted servants of Sylvania, whom Vlad had treated well--indeed, they felt graced to be chosen as Vlad's meal--became little more than 'cattle' to the new count. He eventually became so paranoid that the other vampires would destroy him that they eventually were left with no choice but to prove him right. He was killed at the battle of Grimm Moor, by a White Wolf of Middenheim whom Vlad had inducted into his inner circle.

o Mannfred - Vlad's first get. Mannfred was actually first in line to take the place of Vlad, however he mysteriously disappeared after the Count's untimely death. For many years Konrad was allowed to rule Sylvania, but as it turns out, Manfred had not been idle. He had gone on a quest to retrieve some very powerful artefacts from the lands of the Tomb Kings. When he returned, nearly more than 100 years after Vlad's death, Manfred was equipped with one of Nagash's nine books, a powerfully enchanted staff, and a cloak which rendered him nearly impossible to hit in combat. Additionally, he had become a very accomplished wizard, and this allowed him to do what Konrad could not--to march on the Empire without any fear of defeat. However, when Mannfred finally stood at the gates of Altdorf, as his sire had done so many years ago, yet another crushing defeat waited for him. All that was visible on the walls of the great city was the figure of Grand Theongist Kurt III. The tiny man had open in his hands Nagash's Liber Mortis, and he began reciting the spell of unbinding from its pages. Rage took Mannfred, but as his army began to crumble to dust, he was in no position to continue the assault. He was driven back, and finally cut down at Hel Fenn, though his body was never recovered...
