Truck update...If anyone's reading the Journal...

Well, I had it seen by the body shop the insurance company uses. He took photos of the whole truck, not just the damage. I am not sure if that is standard policy, or not. He tried to get a real 'up close' shot of the ripped out tail light screw too. I was glad of that.

I asked him if they could repair the 'sun-damaged' weather stripping on it and he said that wasn't body shop work, but recommended a good place to go ask.

I also asked about how to go about getting a new lock on my tail gate. He said they might have it on the internet shops, but doubted anyone in town had it for my model of truck. Great, huh? My brother can put it on, if I find one. It is rusted out and looks like someone stuck a screwdriver in it (before I bought the truck). I don't keep anything in the back, but I like it to lock all the same.

The insurance seems to be paying for the damage replacement and car rental. So, I am trying very hard not to get upset or angry. I love my truck. It is the first I have EVER paid for by myself.

My dad has a stake in it (he is the co-signer on the bank papers), but if it gets fixed properly...he shouldn't be too upset either. Maybe this will all work out without a major incident...maybe.

I don't trust people or insurance companies easily. My dad used the company she does for over 20 something years, so maybe...I am praying and keeping my fingers crossed about it.

I am TRYING to trust. God only knows they said the girl who did it was crying when she came into work. I would have been if I had done the same thing, but...It is my truck. I love my truck. I need to relax, but I can't. I can't sleep. My stomach is upset. I am getting ulcers.

I want my baby back to normal again...and the tire beside the damage is going flat at a 'twice the normal' rate. I am hoping she didn't fuck up my tire, too. They aren't replacing the tire.

Miserable today...but it could be worse...maybe...

Had a bad day yesterday...I almost hit a deer on the way to work. Barely missed it stomping my breaks and cutting to the side. I was SO relieved when I didn't fuck up my truck. I love that thing! Worked all night and came home.

When I got in bed, a girl in the apartment below me leaves a voicemail message that she backed into my truck and knocked off some paint.

MY ASS, she tore a 4 inch hole in the fiberglass, and there are 4 other places nearly buckled to the point of tears. The back tail light has a screw totally torn through the fiberglass. Everything below the decal from the tire to the bumper is destroyed.

I know repairing fiberglass doesn't weather. They will have to replace the entire panel to really fix it and my bank I got the loan through is going to be pissed if they don't.

I don't want to get another truck. I love this one. My dad said I could repair and get a newer truck later, but I want to keep THIS ONE!! I don't want it repaired! I want it FIXED!

I am so pissed and she WORKS WITH ME TOO!

I hope they replace the panel and it looks okay. I really do. She says her mother's insurance company will take care of it, but I went to two body shops to get an estimate of the damage. They said it is going to cost $1,300 and a week to fix! I can't be out of a car for a week!

I would take vacation, but I have to put in for it a month in advance and I don't want to wait a month to get it done. Besides, I don't know when they will fix it, or when the car shop can fit me in. This is so screwed up! I have no idea what I am going to do if she doesn't keep her promise and get it done properly. I have no idea what I am going to do if she does...I will still be out of a car for a week.

P.S. My dad almost got the other back side creamed by a truck down a small back road pulling out of someone's driveway the same day. A body shop repair man laughed when I told him how bad my day was going and said "Just think, you could end up 'total'ing the thing and getting a new one before the day is out!" I didn't see the humor, but I am sure most people would have. Most people 'upgrade' their car yearly...not me.
