A vampire bat came flapping in from the night, face all covered in fresh

blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep.

Pretty soon all the other bats smelt the blood & began hassling him

about where he got it.

He told them to p*** off & let him get some sleep, but they persisted

until he finally gave in.

"OK, follow me", he said & flew out of the cave with hundreds of excited

bats behind him. Down through a valley they went across a river & into a

huge forest.

Finally he slowed down & all other bats excitedly milled around him,

tongues hanging out for blood.

"Do you see that large oak tree over there?" he asked. YES, YES, YES!!!"

the bats all screamed in a frenzy.

"Good for you!" said the first bat, "Because I didn't."

Tarot Reading

21:14 Mar 21 2007
Times Read: 581

I asked Jenova to do a tarot reading for me. My question was:

I've fallen for a guy who lives overseas, I'll be meeting him in 3 weeks when I go over for a backpacking holiday. Basically I am wondering if I am going to be safe and enjoy myself on my holiday as I will be travelling alone for a lot of it, if things are go well with my guy and if I will be making the right decision if I move to England in a couple of years time...

1-5: The love interest

1. 7 of pentacles (r): pentacles are the suit of the material plane, usually dealing with things of the earth like money and finances. An ill-dignified 7 of pentacles represents worry over finances and anxiety about where money is coming from. This theme is the at the start of the cards representing this person and your interest in him/her. Are either of you dealing with financial troubles as a result of this trip / visit? Be wary of spending too much of his or your fortune on each other when you meet. If you feel he is being extravagant in his spending for you (dinner, etc), be assured that he is reaching beyond his means for this. While flattering, the extra anxiety is not worth it. Perhaps set that expectation ahead of time prior to your arrival.

2. 9 of Swords (r): swords are the suit of the element of air, having to do with the mental planes of thought and first levels of consciousness, the physical mind, sometimes even extending into the psychic / higher mind realms. The 9 of swords, ill-dignified is a card of rational fears, shame and suspicion. Are there any misgivings you have towards this person? If you start to sense misgivings and fears, be open about them. Your own sense of intuition is your best ally in meeting a near-stranger whom you've only dealt with online. Beware of suspicions that are left unattended and ignored, our intuition is there for a reason. Set clear your expectations of this meeting and stick to your guns with your expectations.

3. Queen of Wands: possibly representative of yourself. The wands are the suit of the element of fire and intuition. This suit traditionally deals with the fire-aspect of the human soul, that which transcends just the mental planes. Intuition and spiritual senses beyond the physical mind belong mostly with the suit of wands. The Queen of Wands represents pure love and honor. This person also harbors possibly a sense for material wealth, but is still practical in her means and expectations. The Queen of Wands can represent a need to remain pure in your love and honorable, as well as setting the practical expectations already spoken of in this reading thus far.

4. Ace of Cups: The suit of cups deals with the element of water, the emotions of the soul which flow and ebb with the tides at times strong and at times soft. The Ace of any suit is an indication of a beginning, just as a 10 represents the nearing of an outcome. The ace of cups is a sign of contentment, joy and abundance and new relationships as well as truth in love. Usually this card indicates that there is a lot of trust that is being placed in a new relationship. I believe this to signify that your emotional involvement is not ill-placed, this is definitely the beginning of something new. But again, heed the warning of the ill-dignified 9 of Swords which indicates fears and suspicions are *rational* not imagined.

5. The Emperor (r): This card I designated the "outcome" of this beginning relationship with this person. Major Arcana cards carry Trump style significance in meaning, which means that they carry a heavier emphasis than all the other cards. The Emperor is the 4th card in the Major Arcana, which are arranged numerically to represent the spiritual journey of the self. The emperor card has to do with the masculine energy that is complementary to the Empress (card 3). An ill-dignified Emperor represents compassion and benevolence, but another side that is domineering and has tendencies towards inflexibility. As a person, this represents a male entity (whether it be a man or a strong woman with a heavy male presence). The above can be interpreted as part of their persona. As the 4th card in the spiritual journey of the soul, the above meaning can signify the need for a time of compassion or benevolence on your part. This entity is the one who rules with great intelligence and fairness and is heavily tied to another card in the Major Arcana: Justice. In this beginning you are called upon to act out of fairness and compassion and benevolence of giving and be aware of one who has the tendency towards inflexibility (you or him, I do not know). It seems to indicate that this relationship can be off to a good start so long as both parties involved remain flexible and open and benevolent towards each other. Be aware of your own intentions and interests for those play a part in your overall happiness here.

Cards 6-11 represent the trip as a whole.

6. The Star: the star is card 17 of the Major Arcana. It falls after the Tower and before the card of the Moon and as such is commonly interpreted as the journey of the soul as it returns from the likes of Death and the Devil and the crisis of the Tower, which represents a breaking away of old to leave nothing but the grounds to start again. The Star reminds us as we travel that there is always light in the darkest of nights and in the aftermath of the Tower, we may trust in this light to guide us through the darkness towards the end of our journey, which will have a better outcome as a result of the journey. Perhaps this trip for you is a journey out of the dark, a hopeful one to begin anew after loss or abandonment. The Star represents faith and hope, a bright prospect or one who is of a generous nature.

7. Knight of Cups (r): The knights of any suit can represent people or a general interpretation of meaning, depending upon the cards surrounding. This knight ill-dignified is a representative of cups, the realm of watery expression and emotion. This Knight is one who is easily influence and impractical and is a warning of fraud or trickery. I am not of the belief that this Knight represents or has anything to do with the person you are meeting. It is more a warning of fraud and trickery on this trip. Be aware of surroundings and be aware of what smells like it's too good to be true. Often it is. Intuition again serves us better than the closest friend. If you sense or smell fraud and trickery, turn from it.

8. 7 of Wands (r): The ill-dignified 7 of Wands represents a feeling of anxiety and indecision. Where you are going, a need for self-confidence is going to be needed and desireable. You feel anxiety over the purpose of this trip and there is a certain lacking in the confidence of the self which brings anxiety and indecision over how to act/ react. Act as yourself, be confident that you are the inspiring person that this other person is expecting to meet. Be nothing more and nothing less than yourself if you have represented yourself honestly, then this will not be a problem.

9. King of Pentacles: The King of any suit represents a grown man or a general interpretation of meaning. Initial instinct tells me this is about the person you are going to meet. Usually the pentacles represent those with dark hair and dark eyes, but not always. This man is a leader who is dependable, valiant and loyal. He is imaginitive and intelligent. He can hold a conversation and is usually practical. The King represents usually the evolved form of the man of Pentacles.

10. 6 of Swords (r): The ill-dignified version of the 6 of Swords is the representation of a confession and perhaps signals a declaration of love. The last time this showed up in my personal reading I was surprised to see it. Then, further down the road (it was in the future sense), the one I love finally admitted his love in return. We have an open relationship, but that's another story. The 6 of Swords ill-dignified mostly represents confessions in terms of a declaration of love. Don't be surprised and I won't say "I told you so" later on. This is not a situation where I am surprised to see it. To me it signifies that this relationship has a distinctly favorable edge in terms of falling in love. Will it be all one expects, or will it last... only time may tell the truth, but love will definitely be forthcoming.

11. Knave of Swords: The Knave, often called the page in other decks is usually representative of a person or of a messenger. In the gothic Tarot, Joseph Vargo and the interpreter have given them messenger assignations to mean the arrival of a message of sorts. This one is a bit of a wild card to me and I am definitely surprised to see it. It represents one who is vigilant, perceptive, secretive and possibly deceitful. One who will be watching and waiting for opportunity. I immediately caught the feeling of one who represents your competition. I don't know immediately what that is regarding. Perhaps it is for you, perhaps it is for one who will come against you. Does this make sense?

Overall, your trip will be successful and will most certainly meet your expectations, unless they are through the roof. I sense nothing more than the common travel dangers, which are avoided with common sense and awareness and vigilance. Keep your best interests at heart and do not abandon your expectations that you will set in this budding relationship. It will be fine and will turn into something that will very much be the honeymoon existence for the duration of this trip that you desire. There is no need to second guess yourself or fear how to act around this person. Rather, be yourself and be true to yourself. Don't acquiesce to what you are unprepared for and be confident in your own ability to sense where things might be amiss. This is going to be a good start out of the dark for you. The dark time is passing and the light of the Star will carry you through this journey. I think this journey represents part of a spiritual journey for yourself. Look forward to it! Enjoy it for what it brings!

I am happy with that reading, I found it to be true and helpful. Posted with permission from Jenova.
