What is this thing that we call love?

Is love the most beautiful emotion in the world?

No, it is not, nothing about love is beautiful!

It is a dagger to the heart,

No more than hurt and anger.

Hurt because of all the anguish that we go through in dealings with love,

And anger because you are furious at yourself for falling in love.



Why must we put ourselves through such emotions?

Why must we have emotions?

Life would be much superior without emotions,

Much superior without all the pain that love puts us through.

But of course without emotions we would all be desolate,

We would be nothing but empty cavities of what we are now.



Is love even real or is it an illusion of our imaginations.

Is love supposed to be so cruel and dreadful?

Or is it supposed to be blissful and grand?

Have some of us just not come across real love yet?

Are those of us that have not found real love,

Destined to spend the rest of our days alone?
