memories are what shape us. we are beings of experience. without memory we have nothing, no soul, no mind, no sense. we all have things we long to forget, but what would we be without them? who would we be? with age many lose their memory, and it is a terrible thing. so, which is better? to lose all the memories you now have? or to never make new ones?

Interesting concept. I think you are right or close to it. If we couldn't store information and develop patterns and protocols for the input the outside world gives us, we would run against each problem or joy as an issue of efficiency to be solved. However, if we give a computer an AI model and plenty of storage, it does "learn" from experience. It can pattern recognize. Have expectations. Make decisions and produce opinions but is without a soul. So what is a soul really? Is it recessed within our blood? Or packed away somewhere in the brain? An area we are not conscious of or capable of manipulating
