Lacy and Lucifer
Lacey had always been strange girl, strange mannerisms, strange yet pretty looks and overall a strange outlook on life. She didn’t like people.
Growing up she often told her mother who was an upper class snob that she didn’t want friends just dolls, she spoke only to them and told them her every hidden thought and the feelings they probably knew her better than her own family.
At school she was a loner, her mother just ignored her daughters out of the ordinary behaviour and lack of interaction with the other children at school, she was bullied because of her high intelligence, she was a teachers pet but the other kids were scared of her. She played with only her shadow in the playground and if any other kids tried joining in she would scowl at them telling them he was her shadow. And hers only.
She had long raven wavy hair with a pallid complexion, bright blue eyes with a frail frame. She looked like a porcelain doll herself. She often stared at the other kids for way too long which frightened them, during art classes she would draw dying flowers withering away as oppose to sunflowers like the other children. This was just the way she was and her Mother accepted this. Her father often insulted her for it.
When Lacy turned 13 her Mother and Father divorced so her mother took her to live away from the city to a small village in Yorkshire called Oldley. Her Mother bought a cottage that was approximately a ten minute walk from the town centre, it was a had two bedrooms and was a lot smaller than the previous address, now before the move Lacey’s mother had thrown all of Lacey’s dolls insisting that she was to go to school and make real friends. Lacey didn’t like school she self taught through books. The loss of her dolls, her only friends drove her to spend weeks without uttering a word to her mother she just sulked; her Shadow had left her a long time ago. What was she to do now?
Due to start her new school in a few weeks her heart was full of dread, Lacey was now alone in the grey world she saw.
One Sunday evening whilst her Mother was cooking Sunday dinner Lacey decided it was time to come out of her tormented sulking and venture her surroundings, she slipped out of the back door, quietly treading through the back garden which was planted with many rose bushes opened the small iron gate, it creaked. SHUT UP she thought as she made her way down the nearest pathway see could see which lead to a sea of tall dark trees that appeared to beckon her name.
She knew her mother wouldn’t be shouting her for dinner for at least an hour. As she approached the beginning of the woods she sighed deeply, looking up at the dreary sky she wished god existed but knew despite all the priests ran ting’s that she had to endure from the church service every Sunday morning that he didn’t her also imagined if he was a person she would not like his character.
Walking through the woodland she began talking aloud.
“Trees talk back to me please mother had thrown my dolls, she’s thrown every one of them, sold them at the car boot the witch.” The trees didn’t make a sound not even through the breeze.
“I long for a friend in my lonely existence”.
It began to rain, the silence caused tears to stream down her face the woodland was gloomy not a creature in sight. Lacey liked wildlife.
She attempted to climb a tree but grazed her hands in the process she let herself drop to the ground allowing herself to come undone at the foot of the tree, she sobbed grasping the sharp twigs on the floor until she heard a whisper that caressed her pain .
“Lacey is that your name”?
She turned around her cold heart froze, not a tangible being in sight, Jumping to her feet her tears had ceased “Trees you talk” She questioned wiping her eyes with her velvet coat sleeve.
“I’m not a tree if I reveal myself you must vow not to ever tell what you see”. The voice echoed slightly, it was a male’s voice softly chilling. Lacey wasn’t frightened of many things but she felt a little uneasy. “You have my word”, she said, “Now please show yourself”.
A dark presence appeared in front of her, it was clearly a he, he was about 15ft in front a hooded figure that was blurred so hard for her mind to take in any set features, A blazing deep red aura surrounded him, he had a pair of black leather gloves on he was looking down. Lacey was too dumbfounded to say a word she would of choked if she tried, instead she let out a gasp of utter shock was she really seeing what stood before her.
He stood still a few minutes before taking slow paces forth. “Come no closer till I can see your face or at least introduce yourself properly you show some manners” She said her confidence back to its normal level. “Child I need not show any manners to any human being, I am here to offer you want you yearn for a friend right I’m here to make a deal with you oh and Allow me to introduce myself my name is Lucifer”. He said as he pulled his hood down. He grinned, Lacey’s stomach flipped he was as darkly radiant as the moon, dark wild hair perfected face carved my
god himself, when he’d been kicked out of heaven he certainly hadn’t damaged himself physically.
He began walking towards her, trodden leaves where set alight lucky the rain was putting them out as he got closer or there would have been a huge fire killing all wildlife thought Lacey. The sky had blackened his black boots seemed heavy as he walked taking his time to reach arms length where he then stood with eyes that flickered like candles with joy.
“You tell me what you want my dear”. He said
“I want to fit in, my mother is to send me to a new school tomorrow and I have no choice but to make real friends”. She said with sad eyes.
He burst into laughter that made the trees leaves begin to drip drops of blood. Through the thin layers of bark blood was leaking down forming wet patches on the dirt on the ground. “Why would you want to fit in”? He said as though this was absurd. “I can give you anything you desire”.
“I want to see ghosts, the dead as they walk to earth roaming” She said “Maybe then I can help the lost souls that are stuck in between”. Yes she really was a morbid girl.
“I am not willing to give you that now think of something else”
