This knot, once tied, will keep your lover ever faithful and the flame between you alight with passion. Both lavender and the color green are associated with love and fidelity, and have been used in such spells since the Middle Ages.



Method



First, make an herbal infusion by placing the lavender in a cup of boiling water for an hour so that it becomes potent. When it has cooled, strain the liquid from the herb and immerse the ribbon in the resulting brew. Leave the ribbon to soak for an hour or so, then take it out to dry. When you are ready to perform your spell, sit quietly in a room where you won't be disturbed. To help create a soothing atmosphere, light a candle and some incense and take a few minutes to calm your mind and steady your breath. Take the ribbon and tie a reef knot at the center. A reef knot is tied like this:



Left over right, then under and through the loop, pull tight.

Right over left, then under and through the loop: pull tight.



As you do so, chant these words:



Tie this knot that he be true,

Let him stick as close as glue,

No one else shall catch his eye,

All temptation pass him by,

And tie again to bind the spell,

That he shall always treat me well,
