"... for most; reality." Could that be a base for a thread topic?
I am curious if those who profess to be vampires, are under the concept that they are a majority, and if so, doesn't that make them "mundane".
The quest for it can be more than a little confusing. Respected web sites, and books can affirm anything you need or want to believe. There is only one demand of self delusion: you must be selective in the amounts of reading, and thinking that you intend to do.
Some notions are easier to believe then others. |Arguments that genuinely respect reason and evidence require simple attention to be convincing. Arguments more careless in upholding reason and evidence require more than this. They must make up in repetition what they lack in power.
Philophies of the most doubtful kinds require the most avid reading. The are less arresting, and individuals find them sensible only be devoting more minutes to reading their merits than to pondering their loopholes.

On some level, I think each of us know the truth in our hearts...but too many people need that extra affirmation of others telling them they are correct..and some can not see inside themselves to think for them selves..they have to be led. So indeed, that was an interesting article .
can the truth in our hearts be measured?......to what end i ask you?......is their a "truth" that cast out all doubt? and if so would you want such a thing?
As Albert Einstein has been quoted as saying:
Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods
^ Is this one of those A. Einstein quotes that people quote to prove that he was a Polytheist? HA!
Regarding "Truth" I do not subscribe to Solipsism to the degree that nothing exists external from the mind. However I am a huge believer of subjective experience, and I am very sceptical of our abilities as Humans to accurately perceive truth (this is not to say as a rule, but what I personally largely suspect.)
I find these premises more relevant:
"# Even if something exists, nothing can be known about it; and
# Even if something could be known about it, knowledge about it can't be communicated to others." -(accurately and without a doubt.)
I follow you there Ash.. thank you.
Too often I find people that desperatly want people to believe, not as they do, but to be convinced that they experienced something. So they push the envelop.. past their faith.. and into something else entirely. Even if I shared a base belief, with half the people on this site, I would still be skeptical of their Paranormal Claims, and Professed Pharanormal abilities.
For the most part because of their inconsistancy, and scripted testimonies.
*Coughs* actually it wasn't. lol
