I have a busy week, I have my first SWE meeting, and my first MAPS session. MAPS is basically help getting use to the work load as an engineering student. They help you figure out how to manage your time better. Which I need help with... I get distracted all to easy. This past weekend, I got all my homework done on Saturday, so I had a relaxing Sunday and have had time to myself this morning too. Which is nice because of being in pain from my "visitor".
I don't have class for another 3 hours or so. I need to leave in 2.5 hours so that I can have lunch before all of my classes this afternoon. I'm about to go in the shower now.
Oh before I do.. I'm happy to say that my sister is back home!! I'm so glad she is safe again. :)
So I'm a part of SWE here at UNCC. For those of you who don't know what SWE is, it's The Society of Women Engineers. I made friends with one of the guys in my engineering class. There are about 8 girls out of about 80+ students in my Engineering class. Which is typical.
I should be finishing up my Calc I homework right now, but I'm taking a break because my head is starting to spin from all of the limits I'm trying to solve.
I just find this semi-funny
the site/program that most of my teachers use is called Moodle
So.... I'm all moved in... I plan on taking pictures here soon. I have a feeling that my roomies are all about the socializing and only a little about the school work....
but we will see...
I'm all hooked up, thanks to my dad. He even set me up with a wireless connection in my room, which I doubt most kids can say they have.
I have so much reading to do before classes start on monday. It will be an interesting semester.
How did you feel when you first moved out/away from your family?
It's been kinda hard on me, my family is everything to me...

It is very hard. It gets easier princess. *hugs* wish I could help
I was very glad to move out because although i love my family very much we wernt getting on so well living under the same roof, get on so much better nt living together and still see them all time anyway.
It was easy for me. I jointed the military and just tranferred my mental image of family to one of brothers and sisters in arms. Everyone takes this a little different, but if it is any consolation to you, most everyone also gets a little homesick.
My family actually moved away from me...
...yes... it has in fact been a long, strange ride, Mr. Garcia.
I married a guy in the Air Force, first mistake, lol. We moved away from my family. I was a wreck, luckily it was only about an hour and a half for them to come see me and vice versa. Still, I'd just sob when they had to leave or on my way home.
Finding out how deep the resevoirs of your own strength and will run is a mixed bag of experiences. You'll miss them, and they in turn will miss you, and all will appreciate one another even more with time and distance. You'll do well kiddo, I'll keep saying it till you do ;)

I'm glad you've got time to yourself. I'm proud of you for all you are doing up there, even if it means you have to be many miles away from me.
