"KILL ME!" he screamed, at the edge of a cliff, to the heavens, begging the Godss to do him in.
They didn't oblige, and he fell half mast, sobbing uncontrollably, his face in his hands.
"WHY?!" he screamed, "WHY?!?!"
He sobbed a bit longer, then stood slowly, his eyes cast upon the ground. He looked up slowly, out to the vastness ahead, to the too blue sky, the clouds colliding softly. Tears continued to roll down his cheeks, and he sniffled quietly, moving slowly closer to the edge.
"Please..." a voice said from behind him, "Please don't do this..." she begged, he turned back slowly,
"You're not even real," he started, "Why should I listen to you?"
"I'm... sorry," she started, a depressing look in her eyes; it was a look that begged for forgiveness.
"It's not your fault," he said, "You're the only girl I could have ever loved, and yet..." he trailed off, "You are, what you are,"
"Yes..." she said, "I am, what I am..." she trailed off, seeming to be thinking, "And I think... therefore, I am," she stated, love in her eyes,
"I can't," he said, his arms raising slowly, like a cross, his baggy shirt sleeves were pulled by gravity, ready to fall, it seemed.
"But," she started, her striking, green eyes piercing through him, his gaze looking her over once more, she was perfect, brown hair, with red tinges, tall, strong, with a feline grace. Her quaint, blue dress matching her form in a way that couldn't be described, "I love you, James," she said.
He let himself fall back, his spiky brown hair waving in the wind, his cream colored shirt ruffling, his baggy black pants flapping. He continued to look up, toward the floating ground, a few pieces of dirt coming off where he had just dropped from. It was getting smaller now.
He felt peaceful as he dropped into a cloud, it's light coolness enveloping him before he burst through the other side. The land was much smaller in his vision now, though it was still a huge piece of earth, big enough to hold a small town.
He spotted something as he fell, something blue. She had jumped after him. He gave a sigh, it wouldn't matter in a short while. It would be no big deal at all. But he hadn't wanted her to die. He had simply wanted to kill himself, and forget the world. Everything about it.
She dove quickly. Her dress flapping viciously, her arms held to her sides, her eyes filled with tears, she would reach him before they hit the ground. She would make sure of it. Her auburn locks flowed beautifully, and everything seemed to go into slow motion as she reached him. Her arms wrapped around his chest. He held her there, for a while, petting her hair.
"I love you too," he said, as she looked up, and she kissed him hard on the mouth, holding him around the neck, it would all be over soon.
They continued to fall, and she placed her head on his chest, still crying, as they fell. She held him tight. It would be the end. Of this, she was sure.

Ex-Colonel Haunt, an aging ex-member of the Army, was flying slowly through the air. His airship, "Dantzer," was his means of having this pleasure cruise. He had acquired this ancient relic of an airship many years back, on a bet, with a very wealthy man.
"By the Godss," he exclaimed, his finger inside the loop that held his tea cup, "Those people are falling!" he yelled, to the pilot, who looked over, "Engines to full!" the Colonel said, "Catch them Mister Dobkins!"
"Aye, sir!" Dobkins replied, with a ligh accent, pushing the throttle to full. The magical engines were well maintained, and they obeyed unerringly.
The ship went into a steep dive, causing both Haunt, and Dobkins to float off of the deck. The Colonel was laughing, Dobkins was holding onto the steering wheel.
****
"I'm sorry for this, Gloria," James said, seeming to be regretting his decision lightly, "I think I overreacted a bit," he admitted. She laughed softly, sadly.
"A bit late for tha--" she started, a sad smile on her face, but was cut off, when they landed on the giant balloon, a gift from the Godss, it seemed. The balloon caved in ten feet, then sprung them back up, five or so, then they landed softly onto the rubber-like ground that they now, were upon.
****
"Got them, sir," Dobkins reported in to the Colonel, who was laughing voraciously,
"Indeed," Haunt started, "Indeed, good job, Dobkins, you deserve a medal," he said, and Dobkins gave a smug grin,
"Thank yeh sir," he said, with a light bow,
****
"What just happened?" James asked Gloria, who was squeezing him tightly with a hug,
"Ohh," she started, "I don't know," she replied, "But I don't care, as long as you're with me," she said, "I don't care about anything else in the world,"
****
"Well," Haunt started, talking to Dobkins, who had gone back to idly controlling the ship, Dobkins snapped to, looking to the Colonel, "Don't just stand there, go get them!" the Colonel ordered, and Dobkins obeyed, though not without speaking a few words under his breath.
Dobkins began to climb up the roping that held the ship to the balloon. He climbed for no longer then twenty seconds before he reached the top, looking to the two whom he had saved.
"Hullo there," Dobkins started, "Who might you be?" he asked, and they both looked to him. James was the first to reply, Gloria seeming quite shy, she hid lightly behind James as they stood, then moved in closer. James stuck out his hand.
"Ho there," James said lightly, "I'm James," he stated, then looked back to Gloria, "And this is my wife, Gloria,"
"Pleased to meet the both of yuh," Dobkins stated, giving a smile,
"Pleased to meet you too," Gloria said, James nodded, with a smile,
"And thanks for saving our lives," James said, then cast his eyes down lightly, "I... well... I lost myself for a moment, you could say, then I fell," James explained,
"Off another ship?" Dobkins asked, raising a brow,
"Not... exactly," James started, "Might we talk about this on decks?" he asked, and Dobkins nodded,
"Good idea sir," he stated, sliding down the ropes quickly,
James looked to Gloria, a bit of sadness in his eye, but he gave her a smile, and kissed her softly on the lips.
"Ladies first, my dear," he said, holding a hand out to the ropes, and one hand to her, which she grasped lightly.
****
"So, how did you manage to fall?" Colonel Haunt asked Gloria, over dinner.
"Well, when James fell, I knew he would die... and..." she paused looking to James, who gave her a few, embarassed glances, "Well, I also knew I couldn't live without him," she stated, biting her lip lightly, she gave a bit of a smile.
"Well then!" Haunt said, leaning over, and slapping James on the back lightly, "Seems you've got a woman who's with you til' the bitter end, eh?" he asked, James nodded, giving a smile, and looking to Gloria,
"Yeah..." he replied, "Yeah, I guess I do, don't I?" he asked, rhetorically, his smile turning to a full blown grin. He looked to Gloria, who's eyes were alight, a smile on her face as well.
