Officer: Could you tell me why you were going so fast?
Me: Because I didn’t see you.
...you make me see the worst pieces of myself.
COMMENTS
That is a good thing at times..isnt it?
if we dont see the worst bits how do we grow and improve??? sometimes the worst parts of ourselves are all we know, it takes someone truely special to show us " the best bits" i always think " I DONT LOVE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE, I LOVE YOU FOR WHO I AM WHEN I AM WITH YOU " sums it up
Thank you, LH, I'll try to remember that.
I used to take my strength for granted. I would lift or move or physically destroy objects with my bare hands that others wouldn’t attempt. It wouldn’t occur to me that someone else couldn’t lift the other end of a desk or table or log if I could lift my end so easily. That was the past. As some of you may know I was sick over Christmas last year and lost a great deal of muscle mass and strength. I felt weak as a kitten for the first 3 months of the year, but I’ve been working on it. I am just now regaining some of that strength.
I’ll show you. Hand me that piano.
I was recently taking great delight in demonstrating my newly restored abilities to myself and anyone willing to watch. I open twist-off caps with the underside of my arm, I cleanly rip apples in twain with my bare hands, tear old phonebooks down the middle, put my fist through walls (pre-demo surveys only), etc. While I don’t seek out an audience (at least not consciously), when I do these at the office there are usually people around. The first time I do such a stunt there is always someone who says “Let me try that”, and as yet they have not duplicated my feats. It has been a real ego boost, I have to tell you.
Until today. I had no idea I was making such a spectacle of myself. I was in my office when I overheard a couple of my technicians talking. One of them was having trouble opening a hermetically-sealed CD case and didn’t have a knife. The other tech suggested, “Give it to the boss-man. He’ll rip it open with his eyelid. Where is he, anyway?” The reply was, “He’s probably outside holding up one end of some lady’s car with one hand and changing her tire with the other.” Cue the laughter.
So here I sit in my office, trying to stay as quiet and humble as possible, trying not to attract attention.
Maybe I should ask someone for help opening this box of paper clips.

And yet...I STILL think I could kick your butt.
Oh, and...didn't I see you in the Fantastic Four?
Ahhh you can rip my phone book any time you like.

Ah but the best 'power' is that of one's mind...
And you my friend have great strength there !!
The rest is just an added bonus? Rip apart a phonebook? Hmmm...I would like to see that, Captain!
Crack another one up for "male ego" ~~gotta love it..haha LOL
