I hope it's understood that I really don't want to have any sort of relationships with the people I work with beyond what is necessary to do my job.
No, I don't want to talk about coffee and my breakfast sandwich.
Yes, it's Friday. Glad that has you in a better mood. We don't need to talk about it.
Please go about your job, and I'll go about mine.
I've had enough of work being a social gathering place. I don't need it. I want to work from home in solitude at this point of my life, I'm just not allowed to.
Who do these AI people think they're fooling?
Oh, yeah...a lot of people. Especially boomers.
This weather can fuck right the fuck off.
There are two maybe 70-foot tall maple trees by the road in front of our house.
Which necessitates the semi-annual root cleanout from the sewer main....
But it's nice not having sewer water backing up into the basement for a while.
Interesting Sunday.
Apparently the local police decided to conduct an arrest across the street that necessitated using military level equipment, and having a standoff for about 4 hours.
Meanwhile I had shit to do. It snowed last night, I needed to clear sidewalks, shovel out fire hydrants - do my neighborly duties. Plus I had to build stage props in my garage.
Cop came up to me as I was shoveling out a hydrant and asked if I had seen a shoeless guy running around. I said, "You're looking for John McClane?" Not sure if he got the joke.
A shoeless guy running around in this weather isn't going to last long. Not sure they were approaching this the right way.
Anyway... went about my day. Nothing happened. Avoided using my pneumatic stapler so they didn't think I was shooting something. Eventually the guy came out of the house he was in. The cops all fist bumped and patted each other on the back. No idea what this guy did but I'm sure this cost the local taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars to do on a Sunday...
Upscale, downscale, upscale, downscale...
Working with old videos is a time consuming task....
After the start to this week it's good that I get at least one day in the downtown office.
A little more relaxing here. One of my favorite breakfast places is right across the street.
And I have the office to myself so no one constantly walking in to "talk."
I don't feel the need to talk to my co-workers. If you need something, fine. But I really don't need to know about what your kids are doing this weekend...
Going to need this coming spring and summer to last about 28 months.
Given the direction we're heading as a nation, that's entirely possible.
