Finally watched "Long Time Running" on Netflix.
Wow. Just... just watch it.
Finished my holiday shopping.
Once again, I managed to avoid getting my kids anything that plugs in, requires batteries, works on WiFi, or will completely isolate them from their family.
Except the youngest, who got a new, big, comfy blanket for his bed. He might build a fort out of it, or nap more.
Other than that this winter will be able enjoying each others' company, and getting outside to enjoy nature.
It's the last winter my daughter will be a regular. Once college starts, I'm pretty sure weekends with dad aren't going to be a thing for her nearly as often....

Awww...
It's ok. As I explained to her yesterday, my job was to raise her to be a self-sufficient adult. She is becoming that, sometimes reluctantly. She is smart enough to recognize being an adult can be a lot of misery, but she also understands that life is life.
Her mom, on the other hand, seems to prefer the kids to never leave the space under her wing. The youngest simply won't fly because she keeps trying to force him to fit a mold he doesn't fit. It's counter intuitive, but I can't fix that. She never listens, or agrees with me anyway.
Starting all these deep conversations elsewhere.
It's a shame so few people frequent this site these days. I used to love the conversations I'd have with people here.
I am not here
I think I've never been here at all or ever will be
I feel like a place
Where no one goes anymore
So I went to this employment workshop, and the host was a life-coach, who is also a dancer in the local community. We've never met, but we recognized each other from community events.
We formally introduced ourselves. She outright asked me if I'm married, and told me she always thought I was cute, but assumed I was married.
So weird.
Chalk that one up in the "shit that has never happened to birra" category.
Finishing an article and video for publication today, have another event to photograph tonight - another charity event - and two nw video projects, one with 5 parts, just came into light.
With all this paying-it-forward I'm doing, 2018 better treat me a LOT better than the last 7 years have.
