The Last Act
22:57 Jul 30 2011
Times Read: 639
Cast within a sea of doubt,
memories without.
Tears come to the eyes,
tears from deep inside.
The lack of hope kicks in
and madness obtains control.
Boxes upon boxes filled with memories
gone in a blink of an eye,
as flames of black eat everything held near.
Upon leaving hope behind,
the colors of the world melt away.
I watched the flames die,
leaving my memories forgotten,
in an empty theater, I watch.
Upon this stage, I act,
under this light, I die.
Within these walls, I suffer,
upon this stage, I act.
The last act I am in today,
with tonight the last show,
nightmares of the past refuse to go.
The cast is all here,
without the ash upon the stage,
the show will begin,
the last dance without the music.
I will remember the lines,
the voice that speaks them
is fading fast.
The curtains are drawn,
the director says nothing but lies,
the lights start to glow.
The flames of black rise again,
leaving my memories forgotten,
in an empty theater, I watch.
Upon this stage, I act,
under this light, I die.
Within these walls, I suffer,
upon this stage, I act.
Within the last act, the cast disappear,
without the crew, the lights fall,
within the theater, the flames rise,
without a hope, I die.
Reaching out for one last note,
the echos of the heart fade.
The light fades, and death comes quickly.
A knife in the hand, and blood on the stage.
The black flames hide the face,
leaving my memories forgotten,
in an empty theater, I watch.
Upon this stage, I act,
under this light, I die.
Within these walls, I suffer,
upon this stage, I act,
into the darkness.
