The Castle

Chapter 1

It was a cold winter night. I was walking up to the castle. The snow was falling from the sky like a dream. The walk to the castle seemed to last forever the moon shined down and glisned onto the river. The castle was beautiful massive windows with shamshed glass which tryed to keep the bittter wind out.The door was old you could tell but the rusty latches which were still tightly screwed on to the wooden door. I loved old castle the history the design the atmosphere everything about them

This is one wasn’t the same it felt so alive so full of energy. It felt like the people who had died were still alive in there. There was a strong present of life were there was none. There had been strange stories told about this castle people going there and never coming back but this were told by the drunk men in the pub who know one ever believes them. When they told me I sat and listened for ages. I was interested in the history of this place. As I left the pub I felt like I was being followed. As I walked back to the place I was staying and sat down on my bed and slept for days.

I studied the castle and its history when I was looking at some of pictures and they all had something about them that was the same but I couldn’t put my finger on it all I knew was the artist had a very dark side. You could tell by the painting. One night I was walking around the village when someone grabbed me. I turned round to see the man from the pub he said to me “this place is cursed leave while you still can LEAVE.” But his words made me want to stay more and find out what was going on in this place.



All the shops close before the sunsets. Every shop pub house has crosses out side on the front and they all sold small bottles of water.



For ones in my long life I felt at home like I was happy like I was meant to come here. Under all this madness people were happy to live here. I knew something wasn’t right that’s what intrigued me. Researching the castle and the village I found out that a mass amount of people died in the 18c and know one knew how but day after day people would turn up dead most of them had been drunk. I wanted to find out more so I booked a late tour around the castle that I loved so much.



It was dark when I got there the women taking us around was very pale with a black dress and long dark hair. She seemed very at home in this place she wasn’t scared as the people how were going to look around were.



There were very few of us looking around this time of night. I guessed they had heard the stories and wanted to go back to there beds. But me on the other hand loved the dark it made the tour more interesting. The lady taking us around loved the place you could tell by the way she said thing. You’d through she lived here by the way she knew were she was going in the dark. There was nothing like this were I used to live just big houses. I would love to live here.



Chapter 2



The next few days I went back to the castle if only just to see her. Every time I saw her I wanted to ask her out for a drink. One night after the tour I went up to her and said “ would you like to come for a drink with me tonight” she looked at me for a minuet and replied, “ not tonight I have to get home” just as I turned round she said “ tomorrow I can.” So as the sun sat for another day I got ready to take this lady for a drink. I walked to the castle just as the sun had gone down I waited for her she came up to me and said “just a pint” I smiled and nodded. I took her to a small pub were there was no crosses or small bottles of water. I loved the taste of beer it made me feel alive.



For the past 50 years I was locked inside a room they didn’t let me out. They said it was for my own good they brought me food and drink. I slept all through the day. I was trapped in the basement no windows a small light mostly darkness. No wonder I come alive at night its what I’m used to. The day hurts my eyes I feel like I’m burning.



I got away 4 years ago when they came in one night to feed. I got out the door I ran then the sun came up and it hurt so much I found a abandon house boarded windows no light was getting in there. 4i looked around the house and found money and a drink and then dead people. I waited for the sun to go down luckily it was winter so shorter days and longer night. I went the shops got some new clothes and a few drinks on the way home for that is what I call I now. As I walked the streets if found some new friends they were just like me they were called Marty Vik, Liam, Chris and Emma. We all walked back and I found some credit cards and money we got back just before the sun came up. We all slept. When we woke we were all very hungry. So we went out and got food. I love fresh meat tastes marvels. That night we had we had some new guests Vik brought home a man called Steve they seemed very happy and Emma brought home a man called Sam they all seemed very happy.



Chapter 3



Three years later when my friends found people well most of them have I left one night. I let them live their own lives. I got into a car and drove as far away as I could. I knew they would come looking for me some time in the future. The memories for hat had happened here had got too much for me to deal with. So I had to leave. So I ended up driving into a little village and I’m happy. The day still burns so I sleep. I found a lovely place it’s big. All the windows are boarded up but lovely feel to it. The people who lived there before died they had money all over the place, which is good because I spent, all mine on gas money. I could use some of thee money to buy the castle. If what I hear is right it is up for sale. Anyway what is that ladies name I’m going to have to find out. She is a mystery, which is great.



I woke up hungry but very awake. I went for a walk and got my food. It had just got dark men were walking to the pub. I made a new friend her name is Billie we walked all night talking about the world and how much it had changed. I asked her old she was she said she was “20” then she asked me how old I was. I looked at her and said “ how old do I look” she looked at me and said “21” I laughed and nodded nothing more was said about it. We walked to the castle. Billie loved it to we said we should buy it some time soon. I was the lady walking across the grass I just stared at her beauty Billie followed my eyes and saw the lady. We had to leave the sun was about to come up. The next day we walked over to the castle so I could show her the inside of our future home. She took us round again I loved the way she looked at me the way her eyes looked deep into mine trying to find something and seeing nothing. They were fixed on me. At the end of the tour I went up to her and kissed her on the hand I just wanted to hold her she was ice cold she smelt so nice I craved that smell but I couldn’t put my finger on it “hello” she smiled at me. Billie brought me back out of my dream by saying we had to go and get food quickly because the sun was arising.



For months we carried on like this time past and so did we. I got to know the ladies name I went up and introduced my self “hello my name is Zachery what is your name” she looked at me and said, “ Yes I know I’m Sally.” She was the angel of the day who so much wanted to be the lady of the night. Know one she had every meet had loved the night how I did. I longed for the day when night consumed the earth and there would be no more daylight.



That night as I walked alone home I was two ladies walking alone I pulled them aside and knocked one of them out and dug my teeth into the other ladies neck as I drained the blood from her I couldn’t bring myself to kill her so I gave her my blood and became one of us. As the other girl came round my newest child Kelly took this lady and bite as hard as she could but before she died Kelly made this lady one of us her name was Stacey. We walked back but before we got home Kelly grabbed a guy and bit him she left him drenched in his blood. I walked them home then I walked to the castle and stood there. I was suddenly I was aware that I was not alone I turned around to see the angel of day standing there looking oh so beautiful. The moon was shining on her pale face. I went over to her she was me and said hell. He then turned to look at the castle again I followed her gaze and saw her looking at one of the windows. We stood there for a while just listing to the sound of the wind and howls of the wolves. She finally broke the silence when she said “I want to live in this place I have always loved it every night I come here waiting for a miracle but it never did happen something is going to happen soon I know it I can tell.” I stood there lost in her eyes. I didn’t know what it was that amazed me about her maybe it was because it was she was so pure so full of life. I stared into her eyes and then the world stood still and we shared our first kiss. It was amazing. No sound. No movement.



Chapter 4



The next day as I sat talking to Billie on the top of a billboard we talked about old times and what are life was like before. Suddenly I felt something that I had not felt in years. They were near they had come looking for me. We walked home as I walked to the door I knew they were there back in the house I walked into the dinning room and I saw them Vik and Steve, Emma and Sam, Marty and Chris. They all looked happy to see me. Someone was missing were Liam? Marty looked at me and said “he left a few years after you we haven’t heard from him for a year we hoped you had? “No I haven’t.” He nodded at me. Billie walked in she looked confused I introduced them all and we all sat and talked. We went out for a few drinks. It was great catching up with them. We were all back together. As we walked back I saw a lady with a black skirt in and red corset. She walked over to me and palled me into an ally she told me to take her right then and there. She slammed me against the wall and stuck her tongue in my mouth. She palled me into a house and onto her bed and I ripped of her clothes I crested her naked body as my fingers went in and out of her she screamed in pleasure. I kissed her all over she was still screaming she collapsed on the bed breathless I lay next to her and watched her sleep till I had to leave. I walked back home and saw the angel of the day I turned round and she had gone. When I got home I slept I slept for days.



When I woke I wanted blood as I walked down the street I saw that lady how palled me into the ally. She walked over to me and whispered “let me be like you let me be a night walker” so I took her like I had done with so many before her as she took my blood I felt something I didn’t know what it was but the last time I felt like this when I was alive. I couldn’t explain it but I loved it. I took the girl just after she had turned and we walked back home. She dragged me into the room. She had already undone her top. I turned to her and said I would be right back I looked around the house no one was in. I walked back to her room a all the candles were alight and rose petals over the floor and bed I looked to the bed to see her lying there. She was naked. Waiting for me to come and take her again. I walked over to her and she sat up I kissed her neck and then I kissed her body I kissed her insides she screamed with pleasure when I came back up she pressed her lips on mine. I slowly slipped my fingers inside her. Her body was so soft and pale. She looked lovely in the moonlight. When we had done I lay there watching the lady I made in the dark. A few more hours and the sun would be up just got time get a drink and see the lady at the castle. I said I had to go. I left the room and went for a walk



Chapter 5



On my way I saw Kelly and Stacey walking with some men I hoped to see the lady the angel of the day sally but all I saw was night. Till something tapped me on the back it was Vik she said “we are going home stay safe and we will come back soon” I hugged her and said goodbye. We all went back as the sun was coming up I knew by the time I would wake up they would have gone. I was right I got up to find Billie, Kelly, Stacey and the new girl. Kelly and Stacey were evil fucks took all the men and killed them. I walked to the castle to see if she was there all I wanted was a hug or just to be with her nothing else just to see her or hear her sweet voices. That is all I want. I got there and saw someone I walked over it was she. The angel of day was now the angel of darkness the lady I longed for the one who made me truly alive again. She saw me and said “I’m glade to see you I didn’t know what had happened” “well I’m fine alive as I can get” she smiled. We stood there I felt her hand slide into mine. I heard someone calling me I turned round and Billie she told me Stacey and Kelly were fighting again. These girls can’t be left alone for ten minuets. I said I had to go to sally but she said she was coming to. Billie and me looked at each other and nodded. We all walked back. As I walked into the house I heard them yelling I walked into the room they were in. Kelly was about to bite Stacey I palled her off and they stopped they looked scared “HOW MANY TIMES?” “ WHAT WAS IT THIS TIME?” They looked very scared “I’m sorry but she stole my man,” said Kelly “I did not” “SHUT UP!” “Both of you if you keep going on ill kill you myself.” They both ran out the house. I walked out the room and Billie pointed to my room I walked in and saw the new girl laying on my bed. I told her not tonight we have guests. I walked out and saw sally in the front room. Behind me I heard foot steeps I was in the front room by the time I turned round it was the new girl she slapped me. She tried to slap me again but I grabbed her hand and she dropped her arm she ran out the house crying I need some men in this house.



Chapter 6



I stood staring at sally and asked her if she wanted a drink. I knew I could do with more than one. She said “yes” so I lead her to the fridge she got out a coke I had a big glass of blood it looked like wine I downed it so I picked up the bottle and drank from there. The sun would come up in a bit. We both walked into the front room “ how come I never see you in the day time?” I looked at her but just as I was about to say something the door banged shut the new girl was back I went over to her and hugged her and told her she will find someone better than me. She looked at me I kissed her on the check and she went. Mental note find out her name. I saw Billie walk in with a guy I grabbed him and bit his neck I drained him dry nothing left but skin. When I was done I looked at Billie she looked right past me I turned round and sally was staring at me her mouth open not knowing what to do or say. She ran to the door and got out I was going to after her but the sunlight fled in so I shut the door and let her run. I slept not knowing what to do.



Chapter 7



I told Billie and Kelly that I was going away for a bit. The new girl was coming with me. I found out her name it is Rosie. We travelled back to my old house. When I got there we had a warm welcome from Marty my first vampire. He was the only one at home. Rosie and him got on very well. They was something there I was happy for both of them. Waited for the rest of them to get home. The first two to get home were Vik and Steve. Vik came up and hugged me then there was Chris came back with some girl he went straight to his room. Then Emma and Sam. Emma ran up and jumped on me. The next night I went for a walk and I bumped into the people who locked me up and I killed them both. When I finished I was drawn to the oldest house in town I felt like I was not alone. I turned around and saw the angel of darkness. She looked at me and didn’t no what to say. I walked over to her and told her not to be scared she told me she had someone to see me. Billie and Kelly were there. I looked at them and I knew something was wrong. Billie moved towards me and said “Liam and Stacey are dead.” “We had to run” hatred grew inside me. I wanted to know who did it so I could slowly but painfully kill them. Billie put some man in my arms and said, “ This is who killed your children” I killed him all his blood was gone a drop was left that was all. He died in pain I was glade. Sally just stood there as the demon inside that had been locked away for so long came out they all looked at me scared. That night I killed every person I saw when I got back I slumbered.



Chapter 8



When I woke. As my eyes opened. I craved blood. I walked. I walked till there was nowhere left to walk. I had come to the end of the cliff and I wished that when I walked over it I wouldn’t fly I would fall. Fall to my death. I wished that I were mortal so I could jump and never come back. There comes a time when every vampire wishes they were mortal. I wish I could walk in the sun, I wish I could watch the sun rise and set everyday. I miss the feel of a hot day and jumping into cold water to cool down. I miss everything that you mortals never care about. They all no how the see breeze feels on there skin. They all no the smell of flowers and the first signs of spring. But they do not take notices of the small things that I wish I had. I miss the way my life used to be. I wish I could feel the warmth of a mortal body next to mine. As I walked back I saw a drunken man walking into an ally I went up behind him and bit him I dug my sharp teeth into his smooth neck. As blood filled my mouth I felt nothing.



Chapter 9



When I got back they where all sitting there waiting for me. I stared at them all trying to read their faces but I could see nothing. They looked like blank pages of a book ready to write in. Emma and Vik came up and hugged me and told me they were going they said there last goodbye to me as Steve came up to me I shock his had and told him to look after Vik. I said the same to Sam but about Emma. M arty was staying here with Rosie and Billie. I walked around the house and I knew things were never going to be the same. Everything had changed now they had let. I went into the back and looked up at the stairs it was beautiful the world was asleep well most of them. Over for another day well for the mortal. Talking of mortals I wonder if Sally is still here or has she moved on as well. Well we will find out soon wont we. Soon she will come looking for me. I lit the great fire and watched the fire dance as if there was an unheard music that only the fire could hear. I walked around the house and then I heard the door bang open. As I slowly walked into the front room I saw the door ajar and a girl about 20 lying on the floor. She didn’t seem to no what was going on. She lay there looking into my eyes. She looked so sad, lost we sat in silence till she finally said “are you Zac” I replied “yes and do I no you?” a smile came to her face it made me melt inside “my name is Luscy-Mai I knew Liam he made me.” I looked at her she looked like she was about to cry. She showed how I felt inside. She told me that when Liam was alive he talked of me a lot and if anything happened to him to try and find me. “He said that I should come and learn from you and you would take care of me.” “Can we go for a walk?” she asked, “I need a drink.” I got up grabbed my coat and she followed me out the door. We walked down the street she spotted a lady she pulled her to the ally we were in and was just about to dig her teeth into this lady when I saw who it was. Luscy-Mai was shocked. I stared at the lady in the dark and then I spoke. “ So how are u sally?” “I thought you went home” sally said “I’m fine getting used to the vampire thing now I didn’t want to go home I wanted to stay here.” As Luscy-Mai stood there I saw Sally’s eyes flicker over her “oh this is Luscy-Mai the newest of my family.” Sally smiled and said hello but Luscy-Mai was hiding in the shadows hardly visible to the mortal eye. I told sally we had to leave but to come round some time soon. We walked on a bit and Luscy had found her second meal of the night. I let her have this one for I knew not of him. We followed him till she got him in the ally and then dug her new toys into his pulsing neck. She left the body and we moved on. Next was to catch my breakfast but who shall we go for tonight? I found my pray a young man found the age of 25 I guess he walked past the ally and I dragged him in. I felt her eyes on me trying to find a bit of goodness she had heard so much about when I dug me teeth into his pale neck the blood filled my mouth. I let the body drop to the floor. Suddenly for the first time in ages I felt needed. She needed me around to help her find her way. We walked home laid down and slept.



I woke with a jump and hit my head on my deathbed she was standing over me with a sad look on her face. Those looks that brake your heart and you want to hold the person and tell them that everything is going to be alright and protected the, from the world. I got up and pulled her towards me and hugged her. I heard her let out a cry. She hid her head in my neck. I whispered into her ear “ don’t be afraid Ill make sure that your safe and that you don’t get hurt.” She looked up at me and smiled. I told Billie to stay in till I got back. I went out on the prow. I walked the streets to find fresh meat. When I turned the corner I saw sally standing there. She looked like she was waiting for someone. I looked at her from the darkness were I was hiding. She stood there looking for someone in the darkness. I came up behind her she shot around and saw me there. We walked for a while till I told her to wait while I went to get a drink. As the women fell to the floor I went back to were sally was and she had gone. Billie was there with the strangest look on her face. I couldn’t work out what it meant. We walked down a dark road and talked of old times. We talked of things we like things we had seen. Then it came to family and love. We talked of family and she told me she had found someone. We ended up back at the house. I walked into my room to find sally sitting on my bed waiting for me. I walked over to her. I got to her and she said “ make me one o you” it took me by surprise I didn’t no what to say. “ Why do you want to live like one of us?” “To live in the shadows” she said “I have always wanted to live like that I love the night it’s the best part of my life” “ I cant” “Why not?” “Because I care about you I don’t want to hurt you” she walked out and left me there. I slept.



I woke up to find Billie standing next to me. I got up and followed her out my room. She showed me my children were back. They saw me and gave me a hug. They told me they were staying and not going anywhere. We all went out for few drinks we had a good time everyone back together. We got back just before the sun came up. We sleep. When I woke I went for a walk I ended up at the cliff hoping to her but she was not there. Everyone turned up and we went for a drink later I went and walked again back were we met. I saw her standing there.



I walked over to her and as she turned round I saw blood running from her chest. She had cut it. She knew I was their I looked at her and kissed her then I bit her. The blood poured from her soft warm neck. When I moved away I bit my wrist and let her have my blood. She fell to the floor and died. Then reborn just as we all had. She looked around then looked at me and we kissed. It was the most alive I had felt. We walked around then walked home on the way we saw Billie she looked so happy with some man. We got back to find everyone had gone to bed.



Chapter 10



As we woke I looked at her and said, “ready to start the first day of the rest of your life?” she smiled at me and said, “this is amazing.” I got up and went in everyone’s room to wake them up first Emma’s and Sam’s I opened the door to see them having sex. I walked straight back out I went into the front room and saw Vik and Steve. Vik ran up to me and said, “ We are getting married!” I smiled at her and hugged her. I walked into Billie’s room she saw not there Luscy-Mai wasn’t in her room. So I walked back to my room to find Luscy-Mai and Sally sitting talking they look liked they had been crying I didn’t know why. I walked in the room and Luscy-Mai came up and hugged me she hid in my neck again all she said saw “why him? Why did they have to kill him?” I told her not to worry. I told her the person who killed him is now dead I killed him. She looked at me and smiled. I hadn’t seen her smile in a while. She walked out my room and I was left with sally. She came up to me and I kissed her on her forehead and hugged her. We walked out my room and saw Billie who asked if we wanted to go for a drink “yes sure do u want to come to Luscy-Mai” she looked and me and said “yes.” We left the house and down the road you could hear the people in the pubs. A man stumbled out with his friends and some lady. I walked over to them and they followed me to the ally. Billie, Sally and Luscy-Mai bit the men. I took the lady. I kissed her neck and bit slowly in to her and her blood filled me mouth. When I was done I dropped her. I wiped my mouth and looked up as I saw Billie run straight past me. I turned round to see a man standing there. He looked like someone I knew but had forgotten. He looked at me and said “ I’m glade to see your still alive.” I looked at him blankly “ you don’t remember me do you?” “ No who are you?” “I’m the one who made you who you are today”



I stood there in shock. It suddenly it all came back to me. I was out and I meet him he asked if I wanted to go back to his for a drink and I did. The next thing I knew I woke with a sharp pain in my neck. I touched the pain and felt to holes. I looked around and I saw him walk out of the darkness. There he stood he asked me “would you like to live forever?” “Yes.” That was the day my life changed. He bit me and I died. I spent a few days with my master and then some people came and took me always from him. They said they knew me. They said they were going to help me. “They told me you died” “yes well that’s what they through” “ why did you never try and save me” “I couldn’t they did something to me” “ but when I found out you got out I tried to find you and now I have.” “So what do you want from me then?” “Nothing I just wanted to see what you have become and I’m very proud of what you have become.” "before i leave i have something for you" i looked at him and saw thinking about everything it all started to make sence. He went into his long coat and handed me a peace of paper and smiled at me. I didnt no what to do i loked at it and a smile fell over my face. i looked at him and he said “ I will be back soon” and then he left. I turned to look at Luscy-Mai and Sally they didn’t know what to say nether did I. A man walked past I grabbed him and drank. We walked back I had both of them on each of my arms. Holding tightly like they were scared. I didn’t know what to do something had changed. I looked at them both and smiled at them. We got back and I sat in the spare room got out the bit of paper and read it it was mine now the castle was mine. I let my head reston the pillow and i slept. I slept for days.



CHAPTER 11



When I woke up I walked into the front room and saw Luscy-Mai sitting in my sit. She looked beautiful. I walked over to her and kissed her. Something inside came alive. I felt so different know something had changed inside of me. I dont no why i did it i just did something inside made me. I walked into my room to see Sally sleeping on my deathbed. I walked over to her she woke up and hugged me and kissed me. It didn’t mount up to the kiss I just had it was nothing compared to the one I shared with Luscy-Mai. I don’t know what it was but I was drawn to her. I lay next to lady I through I loved. But maybe it was just lust of the chases it wasn’t love. I have to tell her. I have to tell she is not the one. I want Luscy-Mai. That night i was confused not knowing what to do. I knew I had to tell her. When I left my room after asking sally if she wanted to go for a drink. I found her sitting on my sit. I walked up to her and asked if she wanted to go for a drink. She said yes. We walked out of the house with out a word said until she said to me “did that mean anything to you?” I knew what she meant. All I could say was “I think I’m falling in love with you” “how do I no your not going to leave me like the rest of them” she said to me. “I care way to much about you to hurt you i love you.” She looked at me. I palled her towards me and we shared a mind-blowing kiss. I knew she was the one for me. We walked around and got a drink. My mind was buzzing I don’t know what to do about Sally. We didn’t talk about her we just talked and walked home. When I got back Billie was sitting there with some man I didn’t no him I didn’t ask. I walked past Emma and Sam’s room. I walked past my room and Luscy-Ma’s room she was asleep. I saw Sally stumble in with some man and dragged him into her room.



I guess that was it. It was over. I stood there and felt a tap on my shoulder I turned around and Vik and Steve there I knew they were going i knew they were i could tell by there faces. They said they were going to get married and that they would write soon. I watched them leave. A sound brought me back it was Rosie. I looked at her and she came towards me and hugged me. She looked up at me and smiled "dont worry zak they will be fine you no they will". I was happy to know that everything was going to be all right for them all. I went to my room and had the best sleep in years.



When I woke the house was empty except sally. I walked and sat in my seat she came in and sat near me. She looked at me. I didn’t know what to say. “I guess its over than” it took her a while to reply she nodded and looked at me. I heard the door go i got up and saw it was Luscy-Mai. She walked over to me and kissed me she didn’t see Sally sitting there. The kiss was amazing. When we parted she turned round to see Sally sitting there. Sally said to her “ don’t worry he’s all your” I asked if they both wanted to go out for a drink. sally didnt no but finlay she said yes. It didn’t take long to find someone to bite. It was a quick one tonight. We walked back and bumped into Emma and Sam who were also coming home we all walked back. When we got back Emma and Sam went straight to their room. Me Sally and Luscy-Mai stood there and then I saw Billie and we went into the dinning room and talked for a bit. I’m not sure what happened to Sally and Luscy-Mai. Billie and me talked for ages until we wanted to sleep.She had found a man i was very happy for her. I said good night to Sally who was now in her room. I said goodnight to Rosie and Marty. I left Emma and Sam’s room I walked into Luscy-Mai room but she was not there. I walked into my room to see Luscy-Mai fast asleep on my bed she looked so peaceful. lying there died to the world but alive to us. I laid next to her thinking about tomorrow what would it be like. I had a new house my family were safe and everyone was happy. Right now I didn’t want it to come I wanted this night to last forever. I was so happy with today that I didn’t want it to end. I kissed her on her forehead and fell asleep.
