Sins

Pride: Pride is awesome, overyly believing in your own abilities, ex: believing you are the reason the sun rises in the morning. to be prideful is to be vain. According to everything ive read, Pride is the sin that all other sins steam from.

Envy: Ah envy, to envy another person so much that you become obsessed. To want their life, their face their strength or any other ability they may have.

Gluttony: One of my more favorite sins to be quite honest, Gluttony is probably one of the most wide spread sin in the USA, to have the desire to eat more than you require for sustinance, though now a days we call it Obesity.

Lust: Lust, probably one of the more fun sins, though just like everything else it is seen as a bad thing. Lust is the embodyment of yerning for another's touch. To want someone is such a way so much that you constantly think about them in a sexual way. Though not many people with admit to it. ;)

Greed: Honestly who isn't greedy? Everyone wants to win the lottery right. Cash that fast paycheck and get out of town so fast nobody will know what hit them. Greed is the desire for material things, *laughs* though my refference is entirely my self speaking, I am a rather greedy person, the point is who doesn't wish to better their own finacial situation?

Sloth: A slackers best friend. Now this one is Defined as "Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work." [definition site] most people dont know what "Sloth" is, well there you go, it is to be a lazy little slacker who wishes to go through life without doing anything themselves.

Wrath: This one i put last because its what the other 6 sins lead to, always, to lust and never accomplish your goal leads to anger, (wrath), to be forced to work when you dont want to, to be told no when you want more money ;), to be denied your own envy, or told that you are no better than anyone else when you know you are. Ah Wrath is indeed something we all experience, though we mostly know it as anger, angry at the world and "god".

Virtues

Chastity: The opposing force to lust, to be chast is to remove yourself from sexual temptation, to express youself with a traditional courtship leading to marage or a romatic friendship, to remain pure in your life from both sexual activity and personal hygine. Chastity is probably the most virtuos of all and the hardest to remain true to.

Temperance: Temperance, to be aware of yourself and others, constantly aware of you surroundings. To express moderation, The exact opposite of gluttony. To be quite honest this one i dont fully understand. here is where i got my information. maybe you can make better heads or tails of this one.

Charity: Charity is quite obvioulsly the opposite of Greed. To give to others in more need than yourself, complete selfishness. To express true love for others and give up your own hopes and dreams so that they may live their own hopes and dreams out.

Diligence: Diligence the opposite of Sloth. To work hard and keep at whatever it is you are doing till you reach a preset goal... then to set a new one and keep working until you reach that one. Diligence is by far one of my more favorite Virtues, though it is quite hard to keep true to. When it comes to "the big picture" Diligence is the only way to reach it.

Kindness: Kindness opposes Envy, to be kind to a person is not hard, but to be kind to everyone and everything for the sake of being kind is the hardest. Though in life people may "do you wrong" kindness is the best way to deal with it. Though the road is tough it can be done and you will end up making more friends with kindness.

Patience: Wraths only opposition. Patience is the ultimate in self control, to hold your temper durring an argument and resolve it peacefully so that all parties in the argument walk away saticfied. Patience can also be seen as mercy, Forgiveness, and peacefullness.

Humility: Humility opposes Pride. Selflessness, modesty, to think of yourself after others, not to be confused with thinking less of yoursef. Humility (like pride) is the root of all virtues. The only way to remain Virtuous is to express Humility at all times. It is having the courage to take the long road on the right path, not taking shortcuts, remaining true to yourself but loving others more than yourself.

All information gathered for the righting of this was gathered either from deadly sins.comor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_virtues any information pulled directly from either site, or anything seen as "word for word" is given due credit.
