This whole "secession petition" thing has really got me worried.

Not that any states are going to actually be granted independence or legally seek secession.

But, worried as to the level of education and critical thinking skills the general population has.

A) These are NOT legally binding petitions and few, if any, people are using them to seriously push for secession.

B) Secession is NOT some "racist southern" thing. In fact New England first threatened secession during the War of 1812. And the US itself was born from secession.

C) Secession, in and of itself is NOT illegal. And secession (including in 1860) can and could have been incredibly peaceful if the federal government decided to not kill their own citizens (600,000 Americans died in the Civil War).

D) I'm tired and just needed to vent.

The US should sell Texas to China. Maybe another state to France, etc. Make some money and give people something really to complain about.

Well, I finally broke down and got my eyes checked. Results: I need glasses.

Here's my new look lol

They also said I had higher than avg interocular pressure which puts me at a higher risk for developing glaucoma in the future. It isn't guaranteed (no one in my family has it) but I should still get checked out every few years.

So what do you think, cute or no?

I got worried there as I didn't see a picture at first and thought I needed another visit to the optician!
