The spirit of your ancestors rush through you
As you celebrate this day
Blood sausage
& corn beef stew
The taste of Ireland is with you
Luck passes over
You’re in a joyful dais
Because the green swims through your veins
History surrounds
It speaks softly through town
The endless shamrock fields sing a tune
Lifting you up when you are blue
Those old pipes still play
Just like dear old dad used too
Shhhh listen so you might here them too
Close your eyes
Dance with dreams
Ireland is upon ye’
Make close ties
And dream sweet
All you have to do is believe it's all true
What they say when you visit Ireland on this day
That the leprechauns come out to play
Tiny men who
Hide gold and craft shoes
Why not believe?
It’s all true
I can prove it to you
Just look there’s one now
Oh wait that was a small tiny cow
They say their fast
In a blink of an eye they pass
If you happen to catch one, they say
Forever luck will come your way
But only if you catch one on St. Patrick’s Day.
