Silver-grey metallic is an iron ore which is iron oxide usually FeO2. It is one of the most grounding of all stones; it reduces stress and combats insomnia. The use of a pendulum is rather easy and you don’t even need a pendulum, you can also use a heavy charm or a ring on a chain or a string instead, anything works as long as it is heavy enough. The length of the string or chain would be best if about 20 to 30cm long.
There are different ways to use a pendulum, but I guess in the end it’s up to you, what feels right for you. You can hold it in your either right or left hand. Depending if you’re left or right handed, as example I’m right handed and would hold it left, to work it with less consciousness.
The other theory is to use the left hand, since the right brain side deals with the spiritual contact and all the psychic phenomena and the right brain controls your left side. So if you’re right handed and will use the left hand you will have an advantage, since it is your weaker hand and the one controlled by your right brain side. But in the end you have to feel with which way you’re more comfortable.
Many skeptical people will tell you that it’s just your subconsciousness that moves the pendulum and that’s exactly what we want.
To verify which direction is your yes or no or unsure, ask questions that are answered with yes or no, like I would ask 'Is my name Kat?' the answer would be yes. For the no answer I would ask ‘Is my name Angela?’ so the answer would be no, since it is not.
The pendulum can either swing forward/backward and left/right or the other direction would be clockwise/anti-clockwise for yes and no.
When you have verified the directions, you can start with asking the questions you want to have an answer to. Always remember to ask, yes and no questions. I saw in someone's blog today, that she has problems to sleep. I think that's a quite common problem these days. I will list a few things to try out. Maybe one of it will help :)
Teas:
Lavender:
1 teaspoon of dried lavender blossoms, pour hot water over it and let it steep 5-10 minutes.
If you need to sweeten it, use honey and not sugar.
Valerian:
1 teaspoon of dried valerian, pour hot water over it and let it steep 5-10 minutes.

Oils
How to use:
3-6 drops into the water filled dish of the oil burner. As massage oil. There are several other ways, but for insomnia, this are the 2 easiest ways.
Orange:
Effect: calms, warms, balance
Area of application: Insomnia, poor concentration, depressions, anxiety
Rose:
Effect: antidepressant, heart opening, uplifting, calming
Area of application: Anti-Depressant and aphrodisiac, sadness, lovesickness, mourning, insomnia, nervous strain, jealousy
Sandalwood:
Effect: antidepressant, calming, anticonvulsant
Area to application: Sexual problems cause through depressions, insomnia, stress, impotence, anxiety

I used to have a rose quartz in my hand, when falling asleep. It absorbs negative vibrations. Good are also lapis lazuli, sapphire, aventurine, biotite, jadeite. Put them next to your bed, or wear them as pendant.
