Here is my awakening story:
The first change I actually noticed was how much the sun began to bother my skin. Normally, I would love to tan but starting midddle school I began to burn very easily. After 10 minutes out in the sun, with as much sunblock that I could put on, I would look like a tomato. I began wearing long sleeved shirts and sweatshirts even in the summer. People started calling me emo because they thought that I was hiding some sort of cutting scars. The sun eventually started to bother my eyes as well. I would be sitting in class with all the lights on, and it felt like a friggin operating room. I begged my teachers to let me wear sunglasses in school, but with their strict policy, that never happened. In the winter the snow would reflect the light into my eyes and it was hell for me. Then a few months later, I began to fall asleep in school. No matter how much coffee
I drank in the morning, no matter what time I went to bed the last night, when the morning came I would be out cold. I remember waking up one morning with my mom freaking out right next to me because she thought I was dead. With my pale skin, I wouldn't blame her. Once I had figured out that nothing could prevent me from falling asleep, I just began staying up all night. This didn't bother me. I loved the night!
Another thing I noticed? I was thirsty. I would wake up in the morning so very thirsty, I began to chug whatever I could find. Nothing could quench my thirst. Sometimes orange juice would help, but nothing could ever satisfy me. Then one day I had a sleepover at my house. We were watching the Queen Of The Damned, and I went mad. All of that blood! I then figured out that was the one thing that I craved. At first, I thought I was a freak. But the next day, when the same friend came over, she opened up her purse and pulled out a syringe. Would you like to drink my blood? She asked. And I accepted. She drained her blood, And when I drank, the thirst suddenly vanished. She explained to me that her other friend was a vampire and she was her doner. She explained everyhing to me, and without her. I would probably be crazy right now. I wouldn't know who I was, or what I was.
Once I started drinking blood frequently, I was more at ease than I had been for months. My hearing and my eyesight had become better than they ever had been before. My eyesight at night was terrific. Usually I ordered my steak fully cooked, but I started ordering it rare. Everything in my life seemed to suddenly change.
I decided to write this because I wanted other awakening vampires to know that they are not alone. That I have suffered through what they are going through now.
Thanks for reading:)
I took the syringe out of my purse and pulled the cap off slowly. My heart pounded faster when I focused on the vein i was about to drain with the needle.
It had been weeks sinse my last feeding. I called my friend over in a rush because I was about to go insane from the lack of blood. This is the bad part about being a sang. The cravings. Oh, the cravings!
My friend bit her lip as the needle sank into her flesh. The dark blood poured into the syringe, and I felt the temperature difference between the blood and the winter cold.
When I pulled out the syringe, I imediately held it over my open mouth and dripped the load into my mouth.
The hunger sank away.
Did I make you thirsty yet?
