Autumn Leaves
My life has come to autumn
The leaves of my past are falling away.
Some are still hanging on to the branch quiveringly
By a thread
The seasons are going backwards
I've had winter, it's now autumn
Next the summer of hope and the spring of new life
It's a time of loss and grief
Of letting go the leaves, my marriage, my freedom,
My work, my house, my family
And my friends
My soul feels winter-bare
Summer beckons with a smile
But I cannot return it.
Tears keep arising from within
My God, why is it so hard
To surrender my dearest and best
In exchange for yours?

Without You
As the days go by,
I wonder why
You flew up to the sky.
You flew so high,
You make us cry
Why did we have to say goodbye?
You are here with me
I know that's true.
And one thing I'm sure of is I miss you.
You're gone and I want you back.
At least you're out of pain.
You hold my hand at night
And help me through this game.
A tear in my eye
I know your safe in Heaven
But I can't help but cry.
Why did God take you up there?
Life without you just isn't fair.
I know it's hard to say farewell
But I guess God needed a beautiful angel.

When a Loved One's Gone
When everything feels shattered
And everything's gone wrong
How am I supposed to live
When a loved one's gone;
How can I face getting up to know
That you are not here,
This pain and heartache
Is just all too much to bare;
You who I love
Will remain with me forever,
The memories of those special times
Will be forgotten never;
Even though you are gone
Your memory will still live on,
It won't ever fade away
Because my loved one's gone;
You will never be--
More than a thought apart,
For as long as I have a memory
You'll live on in my heart!

The road to Santa Claus,
The blessed time of childhood
That meant so much...because
It held the tinseled magic
Of fairyland array,
When all the world was laughter...
And life was only play.
Christmas is remembering...
A tree ablaze with light,
The family gathered closely
And knowing deep delight.
Exchanging gifts and sharing,
The gaiety and song
That star the festive season...
Each time it comes along.
Christmas is remembering...
Our friends who're far and near,
By giving and receiving,
A season always dear.
The mistle toe and holly,
As scarlet tapers glow,
The Christ Child in a manger...
So very long ago.
