A recent discussion/slanging match about "add me" messages had me thinking back to the "old days" when there were only 28 levels.
It was often said "VR isn't a popularity contest" and you leveled by rating things, accumulating time on site and viewing pages. The number of friends you had was irrelevant, as we the number of people who blocked you (or had you blocked, but that's a whole other rant).
I hate the fact that the number of friends you have is now a KPI in your level because it does turn some people into friend collectors - they usually have no interest in actually talking to the people they add or ask to add them, it's all about the damn level. So they spam everyone they rate with the same bloody message, which causes alterations like the one mentioned above.
As if a vampire would actually give a damn how many friends they had!
As a note to anyone reading this who does send out the add messages - I point blank refuse to add ANYONE who sends them. Don't waste my time or yours asking.
...and now you're haunting my profile. Why, Surge? I've blocked you, you've blocked me back...what's the point?
If you want to talk, unblock me: I'll do the same and hear you out. Otherwise, leave me the fuck alone.
So I left the coven, after messaging Surge and getting no reply. There's 0 members in it now, guess he'll have to...you know what? I don't even care. I'm not being lumbered with someone else's shit. I have enough crap of my own to deal with.
