Heehee :-) Some guy at worked posted an ad on the internal messageboard saying he had a couple of replica swords he wanted to sell for £5 each - a Robin Hood rep and a William Wallace (Braveheart) rep. I thought a fiver was a bit cheap as the replicas normally go for about £40, but I wasn't gonna argue.
Got them home, and we found out...the William Wallace one is actually a battle-ready shortened Claymore, worth about £350!
Needless to say, I won't tell him....
I've been away, but now I'm back! My internet was disconnected but it's finally sorted, and I'm back along with a new laptop so both Gav and i can be on here and other sites (read: Warcraft!) at the same time. Apologies to any of my mates on here who thought I may have been ignoring them...
Get my new car at the weekend :-)
Gav's already got plans for it with regards sound system, interior etc...
But I just can't wait cos it'll actually go :-D
It's official; I spend too much time on the computer. How do I know this?
I was driving home from work just now and there was a white spot of dried bird crap on my windscreen, and my first thought was that it was the mouse cursor...
*bangs head on desk*
Been a while since I've put anything interesting in here...and I'm not going to start now :-D
Just a random entry about the closing in of winter. I go against the masses here when I say I dislike the summer. I cannot stand hot weather. I overheat very quickly and suffer badly with sunstroke, so when the colder days creep in I'm much happier and much more comfortable. There's nothing I like more than snugging up to Gav in bed, which I can't do in the summer as he radiates more heat than the car engine after a 200 mile drive! But it's lovely in the winter as he keeps me warm :-D
In other news - yes, this is just one of those entries when I spout whatever shit is lurking in the recesses of my brain! So, anyway, my baby rats seem to be settling in. They know their mummy now, and come scampering up to me when I slide back the lid on their tank. they've been introduced to the adults but I'm still keeping them separate for now. Once the adults leave us and we've moved the babies to the larger cage, Gav is planning on turning the smaller one they're in now into a vivarium so I can get yet another animal. It's not a large cage so probably a gecko or perhaps a couple of tree frogs or toads will have to suffice. Unfortunately it's not big enough for a royal python...or is it? Hmm...depends how fast they grow I suppose.
My dad's looking out for a new car for me. My cavalier is on its last axles, and I need something more reliable. My grandad left me some money when he died last month so part of it's going on a car, part is going on a motorbike for Gav, then we're putting the rest away for the wedding. My mother seems determined to make me have any car she picks out - specifically an Astra hatchback. She can't seem to grasp the concept of me wanting a car I actually LIKE. Yet she's giving up a perfectly good Mitsu Shogun in favour of a Zafira simply because she likes them. Hypocrite much? Still, my dad gets the idea. He knows there's no point in me having a car I just don't like or wouldn't enjoy driving - such as anything small, less than 1.6, or a saloon. We've narrowed it down to a Ford Mondeo (preferably) or a Vauxhall Vectra - which is the later version of the car I have now and therefore still a nice big car.
OK, I'm gonna stop my rambling now and start getting ready for work. Which I'll no doubt have a nice rant about sometime very soon...I really should see about setting up as freelance SEO, I'd make more money and I wouldn't have to deal with shit :-D
Check out my cute new babies! The latest members of my mini-zoo:
Odie (dumbo rat)
Scuff (grey)
Angel (white pinkeye)
They're 5 weeks old, and we're keeping them in their own cage away from Jenks and Smudge.
Just been reading back through some of my early journal entries and I came across this one I wrote almost 2 years ago:
