Psychic Vamps and Me

06:27 Mar 30 2006
Times Read: 527

I can't explain the how or why of most of this - I can just tell you what happened.

I had heard of the Yahoo Meetup groups, and out of curiosity, decided to sign up for the Vampire one. After a few months, I decided to show up to one of the meetups. After all, it could be interesting, right?

So, I went to the coffee shop at the stated time, and sure enough, I could see them. They weren't all decked out in Goth Gear, mind you, but they were still recognizable as being from a darker subculture. They were fun enough, and we all were happily talking, when something odd happened.

I was going to take a bus home, but the woman who hosted the event said that she'd give me a ride home if I wanted to stay later than the busses ran at that time. When everything was winding down, she said that we should talk to the boy who was serving the coffee, (little prettyboy) because she had a sense for these things and she could tell he was one of them. Sure enough, we chatted with them, and he said he was a psychic vamp, and that he made a habit of feeding off others through Astral Projection.

For the record:

Host and her Husband: Sanguine

Me: Scholar, and witch, and quite cynical

So, we all chatted for a bit, and I said that I didn't astral project (on purpose, anyways - I do some weird shit subconsciously) but I didn't bother about others who did, because I was more than capable of defending myself psychically. He just shrugged, and then we parted ways.

The host, C, asked if I minded if we stopped by their house first, and I had nothing better to do, so I said sure. Me being the ultimately charming creature that I am, we all ended up for a few hours at their place, chatting over some very good absinthe. For those of you that haven't had absinthe, let me just say that, served properly, with the sugar and then set on fire, it is a wonderful drink. Just don't get the cheap stuff.

But back to the story:

I went home and went to sleep, but was woken up later by a... presence. Something was hovering over me. I wasn't that bothered at first, but it got more intrusive, to where it felt like it was right on top of me. I tried to shield and shove it off (I am a competent witch, and can do a fair bit with energy) but after all the absinthe, I was too drunk to focus.

I could feel it, on my body, and on my neck. There wasn't a sharp pain, like skin being broken, but a very dull pain on my neck that hurt like hell but felt good at the same time, and tingling sensations all over my body that were too strong to be imagined, but yet not from a physical touch and the whole time I couldn't decide whether I was moaning in pain or pleasure, and whether wanted it to stop or not. I don't remember how long it went on.

If this was a proper story, I could tell you who and why, but I can't. It could have been the boy from the cafe, another from that meetup (although I don't think there was another psy in that group with much power at all, vamp or not) or it could have been one of the other myriad things that swarm around me in that house (see earlier entries).

I don't know who or why, or even what I'd do if I ran into it again. All I know is that it happened.

Anywhoodly, I’ve never told anyone about that, but I figured if I couldn’t talk about it here, where could I? Also, if any of you have had similar experiences, do tell me, as I don’t really have much experience in this area.

Apparitions and Me

So... yeah, cynical as I am, I do see things, and strange things happen every now and then. Rather than explain it every time, I've decided to just put the main ones here in the story entries - since they are stories, even if they are true.

Next Ghost Encounter

Things had been relatively quiet, except for one time I could have sworn that I saw someone sitting on the couch that wasn't there when I looked again.

I was at my Mother's house again, but not in the room or bed I usually sleep in, because Mother had a friend over, I slept in my younger brother's room. He has a spare bed, and we used to share a room when we were younger, so I didn't mind.

Last night, I went to bed earlier, while he stayed up to watch some late TV shows. I was very drowsy, but still awake, when I heard him come in the room. I made a few irritable "Mrgh" sounds at the noise, and then asked him if Mother intended to go to her regular workout class in the morning, he said he thought so, but wasn't sure. Then he went to bed. Things were quiet for a minute, then I thought of another question I wanted to ask, so I turned towards him and opened my eyes and there was this... thing right in front of my face.

It's hard to explain. It looked like a skull with long blond wavey hair, only not like a skull, it had skin and eyes, I think. It seemed larger than life, and was... moving around, kinda. I screamed - well, not screamed, but made a "Yargh" noise loud enough for my brother to be very puzzled, and then I started to punch and generally swing at the... thing's general direction. In the moment it took for me to subdue the original panic impulse, the thing had disappeared, and all that was left was my brother wondering why the hell I was flailing around like an epiletic, and that Metallica song 'Unforgiven' stuck in my head.

It was real! The others I could pass off as really weird dreams - and I do have dreams where I remember things, instances and places that I've only seen in other dreams, so the seeing the same people those first times could be understood, but I was awake this time. Not fully awake, but awake enough to ask a coherent question and understand the answer. Awake enough to give what my brother calls a "seriously freaky war scream" and swing my fists, and I don't do sleepwalking, plus, contrary to common assumption, people don't talk during dreams, but during a deeper phase, so it doesn't explain the awake yell.

It's not the bed, as some people have theorized, because I wasn't in it this time. Or maybe it was just the nice ones that were in the bed, and now that they're not there, the freaky ones are back. Or maybe these are the same ones, just now they're here and so aren't bothering with appearance. I don't know, but I miss the old ones that were nice and pretty (although it sounds incredibly shallow to say that).

Ghost Story 1

05:26 Mar 30 2006
Times Read: 535

My parents have just recently divorced. There's no real angst on my part, I'm in college now, and they're happier this way. But, as a consequence, my mother has moved into a new house, and I'm pretty sure it's haunted. I spend a few nights a week over there every now and then, and I've started to notice things.

I've been having these "dreams" about someone(s) being in bed with me. Nothing sexual about it, the first time I just thought it was one of those semi-dreams you have in the early mornings where you're not sure if they're real or not. I was in my bed, and there were two someones wth me. I don't remember the gender, but it was a tall, willowy beautiful person with long straight black hair, and another one with blond hair. We were all sorta cuddled/sprawled together on the bed. I wasn't scared or anything, just sorta aware that they were there.

Now, I've shared a bed with many people (mostly siblings) throughout my life, and these... whatevers weren't hogging the blankets or pillows, they didn't snore, they were just there, and I like having people to snuggle with/sprawl over, plus I remember them as being somewhat good looking, so no complaints.

When I woke up, I thought it was weird, but hey, people have weird dreams, right? But then I started having more of these semi-dreams, all of me being awake, in my bed (well, the one I sleep in when I'm at her house) with someone (or sometimes more than one) else in the bed with me. A lot of times I hardly remember it in the morning, but when I think back, there have been many instances.

A few days ago was a very vivid one. I was in my bed again, drowsy, half-sleeping and the one with the long black hair was there. I was on my back, s/he was sitting beside me on the bed, or propped up on it's elbows or something, because his/her(I think it's a male) face was about 6 inches or a foot above mine, just looking at me. I remeber the long black hair, it flowed all around him. Again no fear, just sorta a vague aknowlegement of each other.

There have also been times when I've been more awake that I didn't see anything, but I could feel a... pressure - like two opposing magnets pushing down on me.

Last night was the most vivid though. there was something frightening standing/looming over me, it was to the left of my bed, and this one was rather scary (ugly too, as opposed to the others who were always beautiful). I made some sort of 'pushing' effort, and it disappeared, and I was wide awake, in the room, and nothing was there, but my arms were still locked in a defensive position over my face. Like a 'put your dukes up' position, except I was laying down.

I've never had dreams like this before, just at this house, so I think it's something real. My little brother (who lives at the house full time) agrees that there's something that hauntes the place, but he hasn't been sharing a bed with any (to his knowlege, anyways) I've asked my mother, and she's never had any experiences like than in this house, so I don't know. Still, if it's coincidence, the odds of all these "dreams" happening only in my mother's house are pretty slim.

It's a rather new house, I think it only had one previous owner, so not the place you would expect a large gathering of spirits, but there's most certainly something having sleepovers in my room.

Meh, the sleepover rules are the same for everyone, regardless of your physical or etheral dispositions: no snoring, no hogging blankets, and no groping unless I have previously okayed it. As long as those rules are kept, it's all good, I suppose it doesn't matter much, but still, it's... curious.
