Today's rant is about the condition of the United States government. The state of the government is very sad indeed. What started as idealistic conversations over ale in a tavern's backroom by rich, bored, and frustrated people has descended into an appalling state of greed, corruption, and stupidity.

Before someone starts flaming me for being unpatriotic I must clarify that I love this country and wish to defend it from "all" threats foreign and "domestic". These threats include the aforementioned greed, corruption, and stupidity that has infested the United States government. I have even spent almost ten years in the United States Army and six months in Iraq; so I believe that I can say that I have this country's best interests in mind when I go on my rants.

Our country has always been ruled by the richest and most successful of it's citizens. This actually is the case all over the world and generally this is beneficial to society. After all who would want a high school dropout, with a severe drug problem, and so much debt that he or she will never again be in the clear for a ruler. It seems to make sense to me that if a country is ruled by it's most successful citizens the the country itself should be successful, but when the rulers become too greedy and self-centered then the system will fall apart. This is where the United States now stands.

In history when this type of corruption occurs the majority of the population (middle and lower classes) soon decide that they have had enough and revolution begins. Though the lower classes will never rule they decide that they might get a better deal if they throw their support to another rich person to rule.

So in essence though the rich and successful have always ruled this country; until recently the common people have been relatively well cared for (especially considering the alternatives we can see in other countries around the world).

Recently however, I have seen more and more that the common person is becoming less and less relevant to those in power. I am one of those common people and, though I can't speak for all of them, I for one am getting fed up with all of the ruling class's lies; all of the ruling class's smoke and mirrors. However don't get me wrong I don't believe that the way to change things is revolution. I am sorry but beheading the leaders is not the answer. Fortunately there are ways to change things built into the system. I don't think that these "ways" were created for the common people, but instead because the rich people were terrified of some one getting into power that would go totally insane and begin to cut into the benefits of being rich and successful. However even the common people with hard work of course can take advantage of these ways to create change within the government.

The situation has been getting worse and worse over the years. I have even begun to get the idea that it doesn't really matter who wins the top prize in the political free-for-all (the Presidency) as no matter who wins my situation never seems to get any better.

I have to close this out as I have to work early in the morning. I want to thank anyone who bothers to read this for putting up with my rambling. Hopefully future entries will be more coherent.

Time for a rant. If that stupid blank ever pounds on my door again like the world is ending and then just "you have a phone call"; I swear I will reach down their throat, grab their guts and pull them out through their mouth. Why not just knock like a thoughtful person? I don't ever ignore people like that. I don't deserve to be rattled like that; thankfully though I have, as always, managed to keep my cool. I even ignored the rusty ax stuck in a stump out in the yard and just dealt with the matter. Oh the rusty ax is a great stress reliever as I have a lot of old logs to work out my stress on. Well if anyone reads this please be reassured that I am not about to pull a Lizzie Borden. That is one reason I like working out my stress here online.

I have run across a lot of doubters that say there is no such thing as supernatural. After much thought I have come to think that they might be correct. Easy!!! Don't light the torches and grab the pitchforks just yet. I believe that they are only right because they are either not aware of or don't care about the definition of natural. I believe that anything that exists in reality is in fact natural, but that we just may not yet have the right knowledge to explain it. So instead of saying that vampires, and other unexplained things and occurrences are supernatural I just say they are misunderstood. Just something to think about.
