It was awesome!
The trails were muddy with deep puddles everywhere & it was cold. It was tough at first hitting a puddle, making it then hitting another puddle or even a mud patch but getting stuck & sometimes fall. Drag! But falling was still fun. Learning how to judge which puddles will end me & which ones will let me through was a thrill. Speaking of thrill, charging down some of those winding, rocky inclines was nerve racking & a total blast!
This was most certainly a new experience which let me develop new skills as a rider. All my riding has been on the pavement, specifically road & cyclocross bikes. The bike & I were both covered head to toe in mud, glad I left extra clothes at work. The killer part is my boss & I did this ride with two other people before work. That, is how you start the day. A hard, muddy ride through the woods. I will be getting my own mountain bike once sales start to pick up at the shop should happen around late March.

Tomorrow I get to not only really ride a mountain bike (outside of the shop) for the first time but ride a bad ass one at that. It's one of Giant's full suspension bikes. The bike is a demo our Giant rep gave to us in case someone wanted to try it out in real life before buying. I'm siked! My first time going off road, through trails, on a mountain bike. I'll post the post ride tomorrow.
Later,
