For a while now I've been waiting to start some very important meds because of a paper clerical error. Thankfully now it's straight & I can move on with ma life.

I'm a woman, I ask for help when I lock my keys in the car. I will look at the keys, frown, then wipe out the cell phone faster than you can say "AAA".
Because I'm a woman, I will stop & talk all day with a friend that I haven't seen in ages. I will want to know who they are with, where they are working & other things I that you may not care about but will listen to because you care that I care.
Because I'm a woman, when my "monthly guest" is coming to town, it's nice to know that my comfort is your number one priority. I trust you to go to the store late at night to get me my favorite ice cream & tampons, while you're out with your buddies.
Because I'm a woman, I can expected to sit with you while you watch sports. I will not appreciate what you're saying or screaming at the television but will assume it holds relevance. Just don't stop me from reading my quiet book.
Because I'm a woman, when the house needs something or is a mess I will make sure you are aware of it. I will put sticky notes on your dresser, the bathroom mirror, your half finished beer in the fridge. I know you rely on my in put so you can get everything done in time for the girls night I have planned at the end of the week.
Because I'm a woman, I must tell you how to drive & park. My warnings to you about coming with in on foot of the curb help you to be more aware of your surroundings.
Because I'm a woman, I want you to know what I am thinking. But why should I tell you when I could just ask you what you're thinking & wait for you to ask me.
Because I'm a woman, I want us to spend time with each of our families. All those adorable pictures of you when you were young are that your mother still has are the highlight of the visit. My favorite is the one of you running around the house when you were three with just just boots & a cowboy hat.
Because I'm a woman, you don't have to like the movie but you do have to tell me that you did. Telling me you think it stinks means that you think I stink because I like it. I don't say anything when you want to see a bad movie.
Because I'm a woman, I am going to give you my opinion all the time. Not everyone can see their flaws. It is a loved ones responsibility to stop someone from going to a party looking like they put on the first thing they picked up from the floor, sniffed & called it clean.
Because I'm a woman, and this is, after all, the year 2007, I will not expect for you to do all of the work when it comes to the finances. You make the money & I'll do all the work of spending it for you.
This has been a public service message for men to better understand women ;D

Whether you are on your way to the Tour de France or the grocery store, bikes are the way to go. Two wheels, a frame, seat, pedals & all the componentry make up a wondrous human powered machine. A bike isn't just a bike. It's a guilt & pollution free way to have a blast & get where you need to go. Energy is poured into the bike everytime you ride to the store, through the park or even just around the block. That gives it a presence that can't be denied. When you get on a bike, that you've ridden for miles, you can feel the bike & you becoming a single entity.
Before you walked out of the store with your bike people were putting their energy into it. From the fabrication of the tubing for the frame to the final adjustments before you leave the store people are putting work into the bike. That work leaves a psychic imprint on it. By the time the bike enters your life it has a smattering of life energy from an odd sixty or more people. This results in a larval state of consciousness which you are responsible for developing.
Your thoughts shape the personality that the bike will have. Care for the bike, don't leave it outside in the rain & snow. Get it serviced regularly & if something on it is broken get it fixed. This will make your bike grow because of the love you are putting into it. Ever ridding your bike when you avoided something you had no chance at being aware of? The bike will develop senses that can perceive things that you normally would not. Beyond that you will no longer feel that there is a place where the bike ends & you begin. You just "are".

On May 16th of 2006 I taught myself how to ride a bike. That's right folks, I have only known how to ride a bike for a year & half. This has changed my life. I haven't been the most active person but I wasn't lazy. But being able to ride a bike gave me a sense of freedom I had never known.
One early morning while I was on my way to work I happened to pass by a heap of garbage by the side of the road. Leaning against the heap was an old Peugeot road bike. I knew nothing about bikes & nearly passed it by wondering who owned it when I noticed it wasn't locked up. After taking a closer look at the bike I didn't see anything wrong with it that twenty bucks couldn't fix. Managed to get to get the bike home after work was through & left it on my porch till the whether turned nice. Once it did I brought the bike to the local shop, told the guy my story & left my bike to get fixed. The day I picked up my bike I went to a parking lot near where I lived to begin learning how to ride. Within two days I was riding & two weeks of practice got me on the roads.
From February to may of this year I worked as a bike messenger in Manhattan, which I will never do again. being a bike messenger is New York's most dangerous job. Day in day out you're dodging passenger cars, vans, trucks, buses, cabbies (most are assholes but some are kind), the pigs & pedestrians. My "favorite" kind of pedestians are, tourists. Then to top it off you have the crappy roads & whether to contend with. When it rains you know, you hate the world & the world hates you. But you get to ride. All day long I got to ride my bike. Freedom! I can out maneuver any mobile polluter. I watch people in their cars & they're all so angry meanwhile I'm riding along happy as can be. Unfortunately the job is hard on your body & I had to quit because it threatend to destroy my knees.
Now I work at the local bike shop that got my bike going & changed my life. The bike has been long since stolen but it was too big for me anyways. I just hope it is being ridden & respected.

Being stuck in this town is starting to weigh on me. Most of my friends have moved away to other parts of the country for college or because of family. I'm still stuck here. Now my best friend is moving to Georgia! She was in Pittsburgh which was already far away as it is. But now I don't know when I'm going to see her. It's been months since she came to New York. Since I got to hug my best friend in the whole world. Well I guess all I can do is hope that we will meet again :')
