The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

This journal entry is written purely to introduce APPROPRIATE management skills to those people who hold an administrative position but OBVIOUSLY lack the skills to hold the position and thus ABUSE the power they possess by virtue of holding that position.



For those of you who may be offended in some form or fashion by what this journal entry says, then maybe you should consider 1. Taking a course on management training, or 2. Take an Anger Management class. Either way, you will actually learn how to properly manage a large number of people without coming off as an asshole and actually gain respect, which is the whole purpose, right??? If you feel that you can't learn the skills necessary to manage a large group of people, then I say ABANDON YOUR POSITION, because you have no business being there in the first place!!!



While wearing your virtual administrative hat:



1. Be consistent, but not rigid. Dependable but change your mind. Make decisions but easily accept input from other people.



2. You think out of the box. You try new things, and if they fail, you admit the mistake but not apologize for having tried.



3. You are nimble and can change plans quickly, but you are not flighty.



4. YOU SEE INFORMATION AS A TOOL TO BE USED, NOT AS A POWER TO BE HOARDED!!!!!





As a person:



1. You have confidence in yourself and your abilities.



2. You are somewhat of an extrovert. Management is a people skill and it is not the job for someone who doesn't enjoy people.



3. You are honest and straightforward. YOUR SUCCESS DEPENDS HEAVILY ON THE TRUST OF OTHERS.



4. YOU ARE AN INCLUDER, NOT AN EXCLUDER. You bring others into what you do. YOU DON'T EXCLUDE OTHERS BECAUSE THEY LACK CERTAIN ATTRIBUTES, which are based on opinions anyway.



5. You have a presence. Managers must LEAD. Effective leaders have a quality about them that makes people notice when they enter a room, whether it be virtual or physical.



Take a long hard look at yourself against this list. Find places where you can improve and then get at it!!!!!



Don't waste mine or anyone else's time here because you THINK you are a GOD!!!!
