You see it all the time on job descriptions: "Must have good communication skills..." and every applicant says in answer: "I have good communication skills...".



Everyone has good communication skills by all accounts - so why are we such a lonely species?



Why is there: war? crime? relationship break up? arguing over trivial matters?



The reason? Because we all suck at communication - just because you can form words and let them tumble out of your mouth does not make you a good communicator.



Just watch dog walkers in the park. They think that because they can shout words at their dogs that they have them under control - so why do people get bitten by dogs?



To speak is not to communicate. If people could communicate there would be no unhappiness in the world.
