Lonely dogs...
Once I was a lonely dog, just looking for a home.
I had no place to go, no one to call my own.
I wandered up and down the streets, in rain in heat and snow.
I ate whatever I could find; I was always on the go.
My skin would itch, my feet were sore, my body ached with pain.
And no one stopped to give a pat, or to gently say my name.
I never saw a loving glance; I was always on the run.
For people thought that hurting me was really lots of fun.
And then one day I heard a voice, so gentle, kind and sweet.
And arms so soft reached down to me and took me off my feet.
"No one again will hurt you," was whispered in my ear.
"You'll have a home to call your own where you will know no fear.
You will be dry, you will be warm, and you’ll have enough to eat.
And rest assured that when you sleep, your dreams will all be sweet." I was
afraid I must admit I've lived so long in fear. I can't remember when
I let a human come so near. And as she tended to my wounds, and bathed
and brushed my fur. She told me about the rescue group and what it
meant to her.
She said, "We are a circle, a line that never ends,
and in the center there is you protected by new friends.
And all around you are the ones that check the pounds,
and those that share their home after you've been found.
And all the other folk are searching near and far.
To find the perfect home for you, where you can be a star."
She said, "There is a family, that's waiting patiently,
and pretty soon we'll find them, just you wait and see.
And then they'll join our circle; they'll help to make it grow,
so there'll be room for more like you who have no place to go."
I waited patiently. The days they came and went.
Today's the day I thought, my family will be sent.
Then just when I began to think, it wasn't meant to be,
there were people standing there just gazing down at me.
I knew them in a heartbeat. I could tell they felt it too.
They said, "We have been waiting for a special dog like you."
Now every night I say a prayer to all the gods that be,
"Thank you for the life I live and all you've given me.
But, most of all protect the dogs in the pound and on the street.
And send a Rescue Person to lift them off their feet."

I"m sure a lot of you are unaware of this horrible situationin the Florida Everglades. It has become the dumping point of pets no longer wanted. There are so many abandoned dogs, you just can't imagine it. I don't know whats wrong with people who drop off their pets, but they are sick, horrible monsters. This abuse needs to stop. Please check out 100+Abandoned Dogs of Florida Everglades. It's on facebook.
Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There’s always one reason
To feel not good enough
And it’s hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release
Memory seeps from my veins
Let me be empty
And weightless and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonight
In the arms of an angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort there
So tired of the straight line
And everywhere you turn
There’s vultures and thieves at your back
And the storm keeps on twisting
You keep on building the lie
That you make up for all that you lack
It don’t make no difference
Escaping one last time
It’s easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
This glorious sadness that brings me to my knees
In the arms of an angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort there
You’re in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here
Got thinking about this after posting in the Forum "what song describes you." I put this song there. Its the song she sings for the commercial that shows all the abused and abandoned animals. I am a big animal rights person. I also saw something in the Forum tonight that disturbs me. It was the "Would You Rather" forum .One of the choices was "torture a kitten." First off, that is totally horrible, and disgusting. It is unacceptable, and even suggesting it is unbelievable. I advocate for a huge group on facebook called "Pet Pardons." You can click on the link, click on the pink heart in the green box and post it to your wall. I spend at least 30 minutes a day clicking and advocating for those without a voice. I just had to write this in my journal. Hopefully the kitten thing was a joke. I also hope that at least one person reads this and goes to Pet Pardons, and starts advocating or even adopting an animal that may be killed because there is no room for them. Maybe they should start doing this with people. That would make more people think! All people do is damage the earth. Grrr
I thought these were pretty good so I put them here!!!
I knew a blonde that was so stupid that.......
* she called me to get my phone number.
* she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice box because it said "concentrate."
* she put lipstick on her forehead because she wanted to make up her mind.
*she tried to put M&M's in alphabetical order.
*she sent me a fax with a stamp on it.
*she tried to drown a fish.
*she thought a quarterback was a refund.
*she got locked in a grocery store and starved to death.
*she tripped over a cordless phone.
*she took a ruler to bed to see how long she slept.
*she asked for a price check at the Dollar Store.
*she studied for a blood test.
*she thought Meow Mix was a CD for cats.
*when she heard that 90% of all crimes occur around the home, she moved.
*when she missed the 44 bus, she took the 22 bus twice instead.
*when she took you to the airport and saw a sign that said "Airport Left" she turned around and went home
actually not much thinking for this section!!!
