A very boring first entry for my journal....

So, I'm at work right now. I work at a store called The Crypt. We sell clothing (Tripp, Dogpile, Mighty Fine, Lip Service, Ruby Gloom, Emily the Strange, etc), Dr. Martens, and lots of miscellaneous. We also do tattoos and piercings.

Sunday, however, is almost never anything even resembing busy. Consequently, I'm on the computer a lot. So I was on VR and decided to start my journal.

I got my first tattoo 2 weeks ago. It's of a spider and a spiderweb and it's got "Jeff" in blood red. Jeff is the love of my life. He's getting a tattoo of my name as well.

I really enjoy my job even though it can be quite boring. Starting this weekend, I'll be working 2 shifts a week instead of just the one I have been doing for the last 7 months. I'm still on maternity leave for another 2 weeks. And then it's over. *sniff*

In Canada, you get a total of 1 year off when you have a baby, getting approx 55% of the wage you were making before you went on mat leave.

I love staying home with my baby (he's SO fabulous), but I also get stir-crazy just being at home all the time. I don't want to go back to work full-time, b/c that would mean putting Teagen in daycare, which I don't want to do. So hopefully this works out.

I also found out I was getting another raise today, so that was good news for me. My boss basically just wants to stay competetive with other industries that can offer a better wage.

I can't say he's the best boss ever, though, because I have to say Jeff was my "best boss". Twice. But the "how-we-met story" can be shelved for another day perhaps.

Halloween (my favourite holiday) was okay this year. We watched several horror movies leading up to Halloween, and then more on the day (and then finished Amityville Horror {the remake} the next day). We decorated too, of course.

Jeff and I both dressed up for the trick-or-treaters, but we were disappointed with the number of kids we got. 15 kids! That's it! Only 15! And 3 of them we knew, so I don't know if we should count them. But the thing is, we were expecting a lot more kids. We live in a pretty residential area with lots of families, close to schools. Do all the kids even go trick-or-treating anymore?

15 kids + $50 worth of candy = lots of leftovers

My teeth have been hurting all week.

So it's 5:30 now; time to start closing up the store. I have to get home in a reasonable amount of time, because of course the new Simpsons/Family Guy/War at Home (it's actually pretty funny!)/American Dad are on tonight.

My sincere apologies to anyone who still read this journal entry after seeing the warning headline. I warned you it would be boring.

But, a girl has to start somewhere doesn't she?
