A local band I've been friends with for years. That song was written about one of their former band members, who I was also friends with, who was found dead in his home this past Friday. The obituary didn't state anything more about the cause of death, meaning it was either a drug overdose or suicide.



He was 25, 3 years older then I am. I wasn't extremely good friends with him, but close enough that I should feel something from learning of his death, which occured about 10 minutes ago. It's a reminder of how fleeting life is.

More shit I wrote when I was having trouble with a lot of friends and other things. Ran across it today, struck a note, thought I'd stick it in here.

First off, no, he hasn't ever deleted your profile. Acolytes aren't able to do that.



Secondly, just because a member is an Acolyte does not mean they have to rate a certain way. They are still members of the site, so they rate just like anyone else on the site is allowed by. Do you have any idea how often I get rated a one because I closed someone's thread in the forum? If they don't leave a comment, I'll send a message asking why they rated as they did, and if it was something they didn't like about my profile, I work on fixing it, if it was something else, I ignore it and go on with life. Ratings aren't that big a deal.



And the admins will tell you the same things I am, and some of them probably wouldn't be nearly as polite about it.



Someone rating you a one is NOT against the rules in any way, shape, or form.

I started ranting about winning the lottery, and it started to head towards the whole college problem.



The problem being, I need to go back to school, but I have absolutely no idea what I want to study.



Most of the things I think I would actually find enjoyable to study, are not overly feasible as careers. Philosophy for instance. Your career options are pretty much limited to teaching. No. Definatley no.



Then some of the things I could see myself doing career wise, the schooling involved makes me shudder. Medical school, for instance.



What is my happy medium? Where can I find a reasonable level of contentment and satisfaction, while at the same time providing an acceptable level of financial security?



I have absolutely no fucking clue.



If anyone has any ideas as to what career you think I would be best suited for, feel free to pass your thoughts to me. Maybe you can spark some inspiration somewhere.
