I feel so stupid. What was I thinking?
That I'd ever find true love, and be called baby?
I laugh at my own misery.
It makes me twisted up inside.
Waiting, trying for that one person
To come along and take me.
I'd love them until the end.
Respect them, romance them,
Make them never want to let me go
Until one of us dies
And the other one waits.
But what was I thinking?
That a shooting star would grant my wish,
Of true love?
Ha, How stupid.

From the moment we're born we're assaulted by grand old fairy tales.
True love and marriage. Isn't that the repeated canary song?
Especially bludgeoned into us by our parents, religious institutions...etc;
...But who was it that named love the meaning of life?
There are people on this early plane, perpetually doomed never to find that.
Doomed, might I add, by the social laws that bind us and preach those tired words.
Can a mentally handicapped person find love? Can a crippled person find love? *perhaps* But shallow media forbids it. And more often then not they'll end up abandoned and cared for by strangers.
What about the homeless? *Well there's love there* But in materialistic culture that favors wealth, it's taboo to be poor.
So what can we garner from talk of love?
...And of life?
Could we ascertain that life is meaningless without love? Or perhaps that love is meaningless without life?
I critique that life is for the sake of living. You live to be alive, and love is simply a byproduct of that living.
It's not to be distressed over. If love happens, then it does and perhaps on a more congenial level then the shallow skin obsessed culture would lead us to believe.
However, every second that is wasted crying over love or lack of it, is time that could be better spent constructively and perhaps in pursuit of creating positive change in this world.
...Fore there are far more miserable people then you.
You may not have love, but others may not have food.
And I believe the latter supersedes your problems.
If you focus on your life, and doing something positive, you'll be too busy to worry about love. And if it happens, then good and if not, oh well.
But at least you'll have accomplished something.
Made friends, brought smiles to people's faces and made the planet more of a pleasant place for kids to be born into.

You are right. People are critizied and there are less fortunate people. Love is apart of living, etc. Thank you for the comment, I appreciate it.
