He thought he could finally go home

To see her sweet face face

And to tell her, he loved her since the 12th Grade

But he pushed her away,

Hoping she'd understand.

When he left one day, he handed her a key.

A note attached that said, "Please wait for me."

Oh forgive his foolishness,

And let their love begin.

But when he called, only crying took place.

Dropping to his knees,

With tears streaming down his face.

His parents on the phone, weeping along side

As they said, "She died in her sleep, just yesterday. We found her at your mobile home, just laying on the bed."

All the man could only think of one thing to say.

"Please wait for me."

That's lovely.



I think it lessons to the morbid mortality that is our lives.

...At the same time, it makes you wish you could cherish those you know, while you know them. Because once their gone, you spend the rest of your life being haunted by their memories.
