To Ghandi- "How do you feel about western Civilization?"
"I think it would be a good idea."
I've heard the news, i'm not overly excited, but not saddened either. What does concern me is how many of the so called "rational" thinkers out there and on here don't think we should respect islamic burial rights. Too bad, Obama said himself that he is not declaring a war on Islam. His willingness to give an evil man the courtesy in death he would not extend to us is what makes him civilized, and a much better person than the average american. Things like that are why I'm glad I did vote for him. No one can please everyone, but its these very progressive considerate efforts that can make our country better.
Instead of being as we are and fuck anyone that cares, we should recognize there are times and places to be brash and brazen. There are also times to be polite and cordial.
You want to be cavemen, go live in fucking Afghanistan with the people who don't want to extend courtesies, you want to be an American, try doing something out of your comfort zone. We put people like Osama in power, its our responsibility to take them out and make amends properly not just blow people up
I'm proud to be an american, are people like you only proud to be as close minded as those that want us dead?

This is a well thought out journal and I agree. Extending that courtesy to someone in death (no matter who they were) is what civilised people do.

Great point- because you know we're all in uproar when we're not afforded the same with our 'enemies'. Doing that much can at least make things just a *bit* easier with potential vengeance. If the body was handled differently it would have only inflamed things more.
