Do this on a Sunday. Sunday is a good day for doing manifestation work because Sunday governs success, prosperity, confidence, and hope. Harness these energies with this simple knot spell for manifesting or bringing something into your life. Use a red or gold cord for luck or prosperity. Hold it and envision clearly what you want to manifest. Nine is the number for renewal and new beginnings, so tie the cord nine times, with each knot binding your magical energy to what you want to create. Incant your intentions:
Knot one, the spell’s begun
Knot two, I know what to do
Knot three, it will come to
be,
Knot four, what I wish and
more,
Knot five, my vision’s alive,
Knot six, in the material
world it’s fixed,
Knot seven, tie earth to
heaven,
Knot eight, influence fate,
Knot nine, now is the time,
I bind the mundane and
divine.
And make what I wish, mine.
This is a simple spell to bring you closer to your lover. Light a red candle. Take an apple, preferable a juicy red one, and cut it in half across the middle, revealing the seeds within. Carefully use the tip of the knife to remove the seeds. On an unlined piece of paper, and using red ink, write one attribute you look for in a significant other (or, if you’re already in a stable relationship, write one attribute that you find attractive in your partner). Wrap the seeds in the paper and burn them in a fireproof dish, watching until it is all reduced to ashes. If you wish, allow the candle to burn a bit longer before blowing it out. It is done.

Most Witches and magical practitioners save the ends of their candles after they’ve burned down completely. Additionally, many people store dripped wax from candles used in magical ceremonies. Sometimes these candles are only those that had specific spells and prayers enchanted in them (which are usually first anointed and carved with symbols), but you can also save the wax from any candle that’s been used in sacred space (such as those used on altars, or those that illuminate nighttime circles). If you’ve stored up an abundance of wax, you’ve basically got a spell on your hands! Make use of the wax by completely melting it in a pot on a double-boiler (this is essential, so the wax doesn’t burn or destroy the pot). Pour the wax into a mason jar, putting a candlewick in the center and suspending the top of it with a chopstick (so the wick stays perfectly straight). Once completely cooled, ignite the candle and, keeping an eye on it, allow it to burn to the base. If you wish, add some energy to the candle by visualizing the vaporized wax sending its pent-up energy up to the cosmos. Once burnt out, sprinkle a bit of water and sea salt in the jar and toss it in the trash!
As practitioners of magic, we certainly have a hand in our own destiny, but it pays to honor the forces beyond us that shape our lives. Perform a ritual to the Fates, Norns, and other weavers of the greater tapestry. Gather together the Wheel of Fortune card from your tarot deck or the Jera rune (J), gold and silver candles, white and black cords, and frankincense incense. Lay the card/rune on your altar and light the candles on either side. Hold the cords in your hands and say:
Workers and weavers of life,
I honor you this day.
Close your eyes and focus on the things in your life that have shaped who you are. As you do so, twist the cords together. When you are finished, knot the ends together and lay it on the altar. Close your ritual by thanking the Fates, requesting aid for any changes you’d like to make, extinguishing the candles, and burying your cords.

Native cultures have long held the notion of spirit and ancestral summoning in high esteem. If there’s an area that you feel could benefit from the aid of good spirits, a ceremony such as this can help. At daybreak, go to the area you wish to consecrate or dedicate to the spirits and ancestors. This can be a house, a room, an area of land, a ritual space, or another sacred area. Offer a bit of pure tobacco to the spirits by placing it on the ground or in the four directions. Light a bundle of sweet grass and say the following in the form of a song—just create your own tune!
Spirits of Air, come to me . . .
bless this place, so shall it
be . . .
Spirits of Fire, come to me . . .
bless this place, so shall it be . . .
Spirits of Water, come to me . . .
bless this place, so shall it
be . . .
Spirits of Earth, come to me . . .
bless this place, so shall
it be . . .
Spirits of Sky, come to me . . .
bless this place, so shall
it be . . .
Spirits of Land, come to me . . .
bless this place, so shall
it be . . .
Spirits of Space, come to me . . .
bless this place, so shall
it be . . .
Spirits of Time, come to me . . .
bless this place, so shall
it be.
Most love spells are concerned with attracting a romantic partner into your life, but let’s face it, there are times when you want to get rid of a lover. If you’re sure you want to remove your lover from your life, try this spell. Take a blemished apple and rub it with a rag you’ve soaked with vinegar or lemon juice. Then peel the apple and visualize yourself free of your lover. As you’re peeling your apple, say:
You once turned my head,
now you’re the one I dread.
Let the peel fall on the floor. Bury the peel, or toss it onto the compost pile. Take the peeled apple and throw it into a muddy river or stream and walk away.
Looking to improve things in the bedroom? Give this a try for increasing the passion. If need be, clean the room. It’s hard for any energy to get flowing if there is a lot of clutter around. Next, light a red candle and burn some incense. Jasmine, cinnamon, and patchouli are all good choices to cleanse and protect this special space. While the candle burns, call on the favors of Aphrodite, Freya, and Hathor, asking for their blessings. Add some special touches for each goddess around the room, such as shells for Aphrodite, gold for Freya, and music for Hathor.
