My friends it has been a hard year since I first announced
that my step-father Harold was diagnosed with small cell
cancer. He fought was tortured by Chemo, horrid milky
meds and hard to swallow pills. He was poked, pinched,
and forced to wear a mask in the radiation treatments.
Most don't even know that the treatment causes burns on
the skin. A month ago, they said he was in a partial
remission. Then just last week he was told that nothing
would prevent his death in the next 2 months. What does
one do when they are told such a thing. Harold denied
further treatment. He held us all and when camping with
his boys. Today at 3:pm Harold Waite freed himself of his
mortal shell. He may not have been perfect, but he always
tried to be the best husband and father he could be. I cry
for him, not because he died of cancer, but because he
lived for all he was worth.
Good bye Dad.
