Tonight I went for a very pleasant walk with My best friend. I have always loved a late night walk. There is something about the way the streetlamps and stoplights light up the streets with their soft glow that seems to lift my spirits. The stars above reminding me that all my problems are so tiny compared to the size of the universe.
The cool night air clean and refreshing to the lungs thanks to the rain showers earlier in the day put an extra lift in our step and sharing my favorite time of the night with someone I deeply care about made it all even better. We walked from the house to the store for some sodas and chips and talked of our day and experiences. It is nights like this that I wish would never end. I love my friend so much and I am forever grateful that she is apart of my life. I have been really depressed lately but tonight's walk was just what I needed to put things into perspective and cheered me up a great deal. As we approached home we slowed down not wanting the splendid walk to end.
I filmed this in front of my home in Lagos. You see this is harder than regular football because you have to keep the ball out of the sewage gutters as well as your opponent
This stretch of highway is known lovingly by Lagosians as The Go Slow. I filmed this on the way home from Badagery Nigeria to Surulere
Today was a wonderful day. I spent most of the day walking with a very dear friend who always makes me feel wonderful and I cherished every moment of it as we walked around town taking pictures and talking.
I couldn't help but ask myself several times how I got so lucky to have such a dear and special friend:)
