As an artist, I've always wanted to be great. To be popular, to have people admire my work, to be able to do what I liove and make money doing it. I think that everyone has the same sort of feeling, whether they write, paint, draw, play sports, sing....you get the idea. But just recently....I had a thought. There are no "greats". Humor me for a moment. There are NO greats. I mean, everyones' talents or hobbies, the things we love..they're all things that we constantly strive to better ourselves at, try new things, new techniques, new approaches. If some is truly "GREAT"...what more is there? What more can someone do, or try, and in the end...what more is there to strive for? There would be no draw...no reason to keep going, to keep trying...
SO I guess in the end... I don't want to be "great" ....... I just want to keep trying to get "there" ...does that make sense?

Makes perfect sense to me. That is the goal of every perfectionist on the planet. We may not be perfect, but we keep striving to get there, through whatever means possible.
The writter in me just says, "write it and they will read it, if just for curiosity."
