The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

This is a movie reveiw. Relax maing!.

I highly recommend "The Descent". A story about a girl named Sarah and her "sisters" who like to gather and do crazy shit. Run whitewater rapids, Rock climb...Let distracted husbands run into oncoming traffic and get head impaley death from long metal rods.

Granted the frist five minutes of the movie is pretty intense. And right from the first death scene it's obvious the writer and director intend to play with the "Tragic Loss makes us stronger" shit. But i must say, it worked for me.

The story takes about 20 minutes or so to get really good, when the girls meet up a year after Sarahs tragic accident to cave dive through an easy system, only to find out that the leader of the group Juno deliberately left the guide book behind and managed to squeeze them into a new cave system no ones explored yet.

Of course there wrong.

Whackiness ensues. People see stuff. People get hurt and then people get there throats ripped out and eaten.

The monsters (Oh come on there are always monsters i didn't ruin shit for ya yet!) are really well done. The camera play combined with the inherantly dark lighting really adds alot and in at least one scene there is no light, only sound.

At the risk of spoiling a few scenes.

Sarah and Juno are obviously the stars of the flick with their friends being supporting characters, which they did a beautifull job of doing and still, in a few character roles managed to steal the camera for some sweet death scenes however, the overall feeling is one of Survival. God damn do the two kick ass!!!.

Anyway, the ending is likely one of the best i've seen in along time for such a serious Horror. Definately not what i expected...Okay, i contemplated it but i must say defiantely refreshing.

Thanks for bearing with this review. Its rare i come across something so worthy of my attention.
