The Prophecy of Sybil

06:44 Jan 01 2009
Times Read: 608

The cave was circular and in the middle of it was a stone throne with a man sitting upon it. He had dark brown hair mixed with black and his golden eyes were restless and wild. He wore a pair of black leather jeans and a black t-shirt. Silver silk tied him to the throne and he pulled at it almost unconsciously as if he didn’t like the feeling of being caged or trapped. Twelve wolves surrounded the man and a blue wolf with red eyes was the only one who did not bow in respect to him.

Karma, the blue wolf, frowned as Fenrir, the wolf destined to swallow the world and the son of the god Loki, sat up on his stone throne. As he stood the silken bond that was fashioned by the dwarves and that bound him to his throne tightened and he growled a little. The silk was old and thin. Most would think that Fenrir could tare it easily, but the silk was magical and crafted by the dwarves from the sound of a cat's footfalls, the hairs of a maiden's beard, the roots of a mountain, the dreams of a bear, the breath of a fish, and the spittle of a bird. Nothing could tare the silk, but a special key could undo the silk.

Karma and the rest of Fenrir's pack had looked far and wide for it, but had yet to find even a trace of it. The gods had hidden it well and no one would have expected them to do less. For if Fenrir was ever released from his throne (his prison) then he would bring about Ragnarok, the end of the world, and destroy all the gods and life itself.

This was part of the völva’s prophecy, Völuspá, in the Poetic Edda. Odin, thinking that he needed to know all, summoned a Sybil (shaman). She didn't want to look into the past or the future for him, but he tempted her to do it and so she did. She told him everything about the future she saw and about the past. Once done she left him to the knowledge that one day they would all die and everything would cease to exist. As an attempt to prolong the end of the world and his own death Odin with a few others tried to bind Fenrir. After their third attempt they were able to bind him to his throne.

Fenrir normally stayed in his wolf form, but now he sat as a man in front of his pack that was all wolves. He looked them all in the eye, one by one, and said,” I have heard from Jormungandr, the sea serpent, that Loki is spreading the news. We are to prepare for war! The key has been found! It is the blood of a human on Midgardr. He goes by the name of Tyson Fiwalte. He's being protected by a half elf named Caladwen. She is going by the name Alena Fiwalte and she is his cousin. I want you all to go to Midgardr and bring me this human. Kill the half elf if you wish but do not harm the human."

Fenrir's eyes stopped on Karma and he started to growl. "Karma, you have been apart of my pack since the very beginning... But you are karma and I need to know if you will work against me or with me."

Karma shook her head and said," I am who I am and I will do what I must in accordance to my nature. I cannot fight who and what I am, but I am on your side. I vowed to follow you since your family, but if you do something bad then I must come back at you three fold. Same thing for if you do something good. Fenris, I love you like a brother, but powers far stronger then you bind me to this. I am sorry."

Fenrir howled in rage and became a gigantic dark brown mixed with black colored wolf in front of Karma and strained at his bonds. He tried to grab her with his dagger like fangs, but he couldn't reach and for this Karma was thankful.

The other wolves watched their leader and decided to attack Karma as well, but the blue wolf anticipated their attack. She disappeared in a cloud of blue smoke and left Fenrir howling his rage and the other wolves dodging his fangs.

Karma appeared in Sessrumnir, the goddess Freya’s hall where she lives and where she sends the dead men she chose to entertain her (it’s also the place where craftsmen and bards go) and in Álfheimr, Freya’s world where the elves live. The hall was large and beautiful. The walls were mad of some kind of yellow stone. Twelve benches made of cedar wood were crowded with people and laden with food of all kinds. There were six of these benches on each side of the room. Music from bards could be heard through out the hall and the men that Freya had chosen walked around catering to the gods and the god’s guests. The dead men also entertained everyone and even though they were dead they looked as alive as they had when they were alive on Miðgarðr. The goddess Freya and the god Freyr looked alike with their blue eyes and blond hair. Freya in a long pink dress and Freyr in black slacks and a black shirt sat together on their thrones eating golden apples and drinking ale. Freya’s thrown was made of oak and had flowers carved into beautiful designs on the sides and back. The seat also had a cushion made of velvet with goose down in it. Freyr’s thrown was made of rowan and had suns, clouds, and a beautiful mural of a rainstorm carved into it. He also had a velvet cushion filled with goose down. Karma hadn't wanted to arrive in Sessrumnir, Freya's hall, but out of respect she was forced to at least give her and Freyr her respects. Also since Fenrir had attacked not only her, but the other wolves that were apart of his pack she planned on setting the balance by helping the gods out.

Freya smiled as she saw Karma and said," Ah, it always pleases me to see you and hear your mind. What have you brought me today, my friend?"

Karma bowed and touched the floor with her nose then rose and said," Greetings, Lovely Goddess of Magic and Great God of Sunlight. It is my pleasure to see you and to be able to appear in your presence. I have brought you nothing, but as a friend I have come to warn you." Karma's voice was beautiful even though it came out of a wolf’s mouth. It was soft and sounded as light as a bird’s feather, but it was also serious and calculating.

Freyr laughed and motioned with his hand that Karma may leave. “You have nothing to tell us that we do not already know, young blue pup. We are gods and we are the first to know of the goings on in the niu heimar (nine worlds)."

Freya playfully shoved her brother and said," Be nice my brother. Karma is a friend and a good one to have at that. Do not take her words lightly and do not dismiss her for she might not give us the information that she has." Freya turned to Karma and smiled. "I apologize for my brother’s rudeness. Please, tell us of your news."

Karma nodded and said," The key to undo Fenrir’s bonds has been found. It is the blood of a human from Midgardr. He is protected by a half elf, but she will not last long against Fenrir's wolves."

Freya gasped and Freyr slammed his hand down on his throne hard enough to cause the ground beneath everyone to shake. The music and chatter stopped and everything went into complete silence. No one moved and they all watched the two shocked gods.

Freyr stood and said in an angry and commanding voice," Who is this human that will cause our deaths. What is his name?!” His words boomed through the hall making not only Karma, but also everyone else in the hall wince.

Karma whimpered from the pain in her ears and said through gritted fangs," Tyson Fiwalte! He was chosen by Odin when he was a baby to be the key for to make the silk that binds Fenrir there needed to be a blood sacrifice from a pure soul. Tyson at the time was the only pure soul for he was a newly born in his first life cycle (he was an Aries). Please do not yell! You hurt my ears."

Freya put a comforting hand on Freyr’s arm and said, as she looked up at him with tear filled eyes," Brother calm down. Karma has done nothing to deserve your wrath and has been kind in telling us about Fenrir and the Key."

Freyr closed his eyes and took deep breaths. After a few minutes he sat back down and, opening his eyes, put his hand on his sisters. "I am sorry. I am just angry that we were never told of any key. I had thought that Fenrir was locked away for good."

Freya nodded as tear's slid down her cheeks and said," Me too. If I had known about this I would have sent elves to protect him or at the least watch him."

Karma snorted and said," There is a half elf protecting him who he trusts. They are family and the half elf is a vessel of Odin’s. He has been watching and protecting the human since he chose him as his blood sacrifice."

Freyr and Freya nodded slowly and Freya said," So Odin chose to protect the human and thought it not important enough to tell the rest of us about it."

Karma shrugged and said,” He probably had good reasons, but then you never know when it comes to Odin.”

Freya nodded gravely and said,” We have stayed alive this long and kept Ragnarok at bay. I dare say that there is probably nothing we can do. No god can go to Midgardr but Odin and even then he must take the body of a half elf. I would send elves to protect the human, but the world has changed and none of them would be able to pass as human…Karma do you think you could go and help protect the human while keeping us informed on everything that happens?”

Everyone looked at Karma and she nodded slowly. “I can and will, but I must ask that no new of what I am doing to help you all gets to Loki. If he finds out what I am doing I can only cringe at the consequences of what will happen.”

Freyr and Freya both nodded in agreement but Karma wasn’t done talking. “I also need a human body. A blue wolf with red eyes would either be killed or captured immediately in the human world.”

Freya smiled and said,” That is simple here.” Freya waved her hand and instantly Karma stood on to legs. Karma wore a pair of faded black jeans, black biker boots, and a white tank top. Her blue hair fell in waves down to her waist and her skin was as pale as moonlight. The only thing she could not see was that her eyes were a deep flame red that glowed like neon lights and were framed by long full lashes.

Karma carefully moved a hand and touched her face. Her skin was soft and hairless which was strange since in her wolf body she had been covered by a thick fur coat. She moved her hands through her long hair which softer and thinner then her fur. As she ran her hands through her hair she noticed that her nails were long and sharp, but that they were clear and clean.

Frowning Karma tested her nail on her finger and found that the nail was sharp enough to draw blood.

Karma’s frown quickly turned into a smile and she bowed low, nearly falling on her face, and said,” Thank you, my lady! This is marvelous and will do nicely.”

Freya laughed lightly into her hand and said,” It was nothing my friend. Besides even though you have a human form now you are still a wolf. Just imagine yourself as one and you will return to that form. Also when you’re on Midgardr, if you are questioned about your hair color say that you died it and if anyone asks about your eyes say that you wear colored contacts.”

Karma nodded even though she wasn’t so sure about what a contact was. She knew women who died their hair different colors so that no one would see the gray in their hair but to die there hair such an outlandish color as blue was very strange. It made Karma wonder who would actually do such a thing…but then Karma herself loved her blue hair since it made her stick out in a crowd and it made her different then everyone else.

“I will do my best to protect the human. You shall hear from me if anything happens. I’ll keep a mind link open to you both if you wish to call on me. Later.” With that Karma disappeared in a cloud of blue smoke.

Slowly the music and chatter started up again and soon it was as if nothing had happened at all…

**************************************

Midgardr was huge! Gigantic towers were everywhere and there seemed to be million’s of people. Large beasts of metal roared down the roads and people moved about as if they were in a great hurry. The air smelled of something foul, food, and humans along with their many pets.

Karma looked around in amazement and in a little bit of shock. She’d never seen such a sight and for the people around her to act as if it was nothing was astonishing!

Up above in the sky another but different metal beast flew over the city making a very loud noise.

Karma watched it in fascination. She didn’t realize that someone was standing in front of her talking to her until he waved his hand in her face.

Karma growled and said,” Who are you and what do you want?”

The guy was short with blond hair and blue eyes. He was thin but well muscled and he was scowling at her as if she was a little bug that he would really like to squish. “If you’re not going to come in and buy something then please move away from our door and stands. We’d rather not have to deal with the likes of riff raff like you.”

Karma’s scowl matched the little mans as she said,” I would never steal for the consequences would be severe. You’re a dreadful fool for even implying that I would do such a thing.” With a last glare she turned and walked away. It angered her all the way to her soul that someone would dare imply that she, karma, would do something so outlandish and stupid as stealing when the consequences of doing such a thing could possible kill her or cause a great misfortune to others.

As Karma walked she knew that she walked a little strangely because people looked at her strangely. She tried to walk straighter, but she’d never walked on two legs again and it was very strange.

Karma walked on the sidewalk and down alley’s as she admired the city. Sure it had its poor folk and pollution, but it was still a marvelous city. Its towers were that of myth and its people were as strange as the dwarfs and elves that Karma still did not understand even though she had spent most of her life among them. Wild animals lived among the poor of the city and they seemed to be forgotten by the people of the city. They roamed from trashcan to dumpster not worrying about the humans or the chaos going on around them.

Karma couldn’t help but admire these wild beasts that were able to adapt to the ways of humans and to their cities and constructions.

As Karma emerged from an alley she nearly walked out right in front of one of the metal beasts. The creature was large and black with a woman inside of it. Lucky for her someone pulled her back into the crowd of people on the sidewalk.

Karma gasped as she fell back onto the ground. She had felt the heat radiating from the metal beast and she had been mere inches from being road kill. She blinked a few times to get her self back to herself and looked around to see who had saved her.

Not even five feet away from her was a tall man with midnight black hair that fell into his eyes and indigo blue eyes that were framed by long full lashes. He wore black pants, a black shirt with the word “Korn” on it, and a pair of black sneakers. He was scowling at her and he didn’t look at all happy. “What the heck were you thinking?! That car could have killed you!”

Karma shrugged as she watched him and said,” In truth I didn’t even see it until I was in danger. Thank you for pulling me back, I am in your debt. If you hadn’t saved me then for all I know your world could have ended or worse it could have gone into complete chaos.”

The guy shook his head as he rolled his eyes and said,” Lady, I don’t even want to hear it. You nearly got yourself killed and for all I know you’re a runaway wacko from the crazy farm.”

Karma rolled her eyes dramatically and said,” I’m not crazy and I’m not from any of your strange crazy houses. And I already apologized for nearly getting myself killed. It was an accident and I’m not from around here.”

The crowd around them started to disperse as Karma and the guy glared at each other. Neither of them moved or looked away. When an old guy nearly ran into the dark haired guy he looked away and Karma said,” What’s your name?”

The guy stood up and dusted himself off. When he helped her up he said,” My names Kay Trystanger. What’s your name?”

Karma smiled as she dusted herself off. No one had ever asked her who she was before and so it was kind of funny for her to be telling someone who she was. “Karma Destate, but normally I just go by Karma.”

Kay nodded as he took in her blue hair and red eyes. He’d never seen such a strange person before. “That’s not a very common name, but it’s really cool.”

Karma wasn’t sure if he was complementing her or insulting her so she guessed it was the former and not the latter. Smiling she looked at the city around her and said,” So what is this city called?”

Kay gave her a strange look and said,” You really must not be from around here if you can’t even figure out where you are. You’re in New York City in New York. Where are you from, anyways?”

Karma smiled and said,” I’m from Iceland. I came here to visit a person named Tyson Fiwalte and Alena Fiwalte. Do you know of them or where I can find them?”

Kay’s jaw dropped as he stared at Karma as if she’d just grown a huge fluffy tail. Just encase she had she patted down her backside and sighed when she didn’t feel anything. Since he was still looking at her funny Karma waved a hand in front of his face and said,” Hello? Is there anyone there? Hello?”

Kay shook his head suddenly making Karma jump. ”Yes, I know who Tyson Fiwalte and Alena Fiwalte are! Everyone knows who they are in this city. Tyson Fiwalte is the person who invented the game “Prophecy Loaded”, the game about the Norse mythology and Ragnarok.”

This time it was Karma’s turn to be surprised. How could someone make a game about the end of the world? And why would Odin even allow it? It would be giving the humans too much information… Wouldn’t it? “So do you know where I could find them?”

Kay shrugged as if it was common knowledge and said,” You could always try their house or one of there game signings.”

Karma cocked her head to the side and lifted up one eyebrow in confusion. “Game signing? What’s that?”

Kay sighed as if he was talking to a child and had to be patient with it, but wasn’t really succeeding. “Look. After a person makes something great like a book, cd, or game people will want an autograph from them. So the people who make what ever was great will go to some place and sign what ever they made or whatever someone wants them to sign. Get it?”

Karma nodded her head slowly and said,” I think I get it… kind of. So I should go to a game signing?”

“Either that or there house. It would probably be better to go to the signing, because they probably won’t be at there house all that much.”

Karma nodded and said,” Ok, then I shall go to a game signing.” She started to walk off down the street when Kay grabbed her by the back of her shirt, causing her to stop.

“And where do you think your going? The game signing is tonight at eight o’clock at “Loki’s Tricks” game store.”

Karma frowned as she looked at his face. Any store or place named for a god was there domain. That meant that she was in trouble if Tyson and Alena went there and she wasn’t there to stop them. Loki would surely be there or Fenrir’s wolves could show up and kill them all... Shaking her head, Karma forced her self to thinking positive and said,” Show me this place where Loki rules.”

Kay laughed and said as he put his arm around her shoulder,” I’ll do better then that. I’ll take you there.”

Karma almost laughed with him as he guided her down the street to “Loki’s Tricks”. She knew that she would be victorious and that she would be able to stop Loki’s plans of destroying the world. She was on the hunt and nothing would get in her way.

***************************************

Tyson sat down next to Alena as she stacked his video games on the table. The game signing was planned for eight, but people had already started showing up. To make sure that the place didn’t get to crowded Tyson had decided to start early. So Alena had gotten out the games and he’d got his pen and a chair.

A man with flame red hair and cunning green eyes walked up to them with a smile that seemed too brilliant to be real. “Hello there. May I please have my game signed?”

Tyson barely even looked at the game as he signed it. All he knew was that the man in front of him was too beautiful and for some reason he looked familiar. “And who should I be signing it to?”

The man’s smile got bigger if that was even possible and he said cheerily,” Just sign it to a friend.”

Tyson nodded slowly as he tried to figure out who the heck the man was. The information would come to the surface of his mind and before he could figure it all out it would disappear into a cloud of darkness. Sighing Tyson handed the game back to the man and said,” Have a good day, sir.”

The man nodded and said, as he waved the game in the air,” I will.”

Tyson frowned as he looked at the game and noticed that the man looked exactly like the character Loki from his game…”Wait!” Tyson stood up to go after the guy, but he’d already disappeared into the growing crowd.

Alena put a hand on his arm and pulled him down into his chair. “Stop making a seen, cousin. Don’t worry. I have a feeling he’ll be back.”

Tyson looked at his cousin with her shoulder length pink hair and violet eyes. She looked as if she belonged in his game as some kind of sprite or elf and many people had asked him if he’d gotten the idea for the game from her. Normally she was very funny and loved to childish but now she was as serious as a predator watching its prey and she seemed to be in deep thought. Sighing Tyson went back to signing games, but he still looked around from time to time to look for the strange man who looked exactly like his character Loki.

As Tyson signed a game for a little girl dressed up like Skuld, one of the norns (fates) and is in charge of the past, he noticed a woman at the end of the line who looked familiar also. The only difference was that she wasn’t from his game, which only confused him more. Tyson watched her as he signed games and chatted with people. Her blue hair and red eyes were really weird and he knew that if he’d seen her before then he would have remembered her.

Alena yawned dramatically next to him and tapped him on the shoulder. “I think we should quit early and go home. This is boring and I’m tired.”

Tyson laughed as his cousin yawned again and rubbed her eyes. He’d none that she wouldn’t be able to stay up so late when he’d said that he would sign games until late at night. He’d told the people that he’d stay and sign games, but that he’d need help after his ‘assistant’ left. “Don’t worry about it. You can go home and relax. I already requested that they have someone ready to help me. I have it covered so don’t worry about it.”

Alena frowned and she looked at him a little worried and said,” Come on. It’s not like your getting paid a lot to do this. Let’s just go.”

Tyson shook his head and said,” These people came to get their games signed and I said that I would do it so I have to. You can go, but I’m staying and that’s that.”

Alena sighed and continued to stack the games next to him so that he could sign them for people. She still watched the crowd and people in the store, but she also watched Tyson for signs that he might change his mind.

***************************************

Karma entered “Loki’s Trick’s” expecting to find a small black shop that was run down and trashed. Instead she found the place large, filled with people, and magnificent. The walls were baby blue with pictures of mythical creatures and weapons on the walls. Books, cd’s, video games, magazines, comic’s, and more. The store sold all kinds of things and made sure to appeal to all ages and to the people’s imagination.

Karma nearly fainted when she saw the place and she couldn’t help but love it, even though it was in Loki’s name.

Kay laughed as he watched her and said,” Oh, come on. They must have stores like this where you come from? We have tones of stores all over the city and malls even larger than this.”

Karma’s eyes widened in wonder and she looked around even more. She touched books and shelves. She admired the weapons and the hand crafted sculptures. She even asked some of the people who worked there about some of their pictures.

When it was eight she got in line with Kay and they waited to be able to talk to Tyson. Karma could see him talking and laughing with people as he signed their games. She even saw Loki himself get a game signed. As she watched him she wanted to run away and to save Tyson but she knew she couldn’t move or give away that she was there. She knew that Loki would probably kill her if he saw her.

***************************************

When the woman with blue hair and red eyes got up to the front of the line she smiled at him and said,” Hello there. My name is Karma Destate and I was asked to come and help you.”

Tyson smiled as he realized that she must be the person that the shop sent to help him after Alena left. They’d probably thought that he needed someone strange looking to help him. “Thank you, but as you can see Alena, my assistant, hasn’t left yet so I won’t need your help for a while.” He expected her to move to the side and wait for Alena to leave or to go do something else, but instead she stayed in front of him with the smile still on her face.

“I’m sorry. I don’t think you understood me. I’ve come to protect you from some very nasty people who have decided that its time for you to die. Now will you please come with me?”

Alena stood and cracked her knuckles. “If you’ve come to take him you’ll have to go through me first.”

Karma frowned as she turned and faced Alena. She didn’t understand why this halfling would dare to get in her way, but she wasn’t about to stand by and let her keep her from getting the human to safety. ”Halfling, please don’t get in my way. I haven’t come to hurt him and if you were paying more attention then you would of noticed this places name and made sure that he didn’t come. You should also know me by name and show more respect.”

Alena rolled her eyes and with a frown said,” You’re still a pup even though you’ve got a new skin and I don’t take orders from the likes of you.”

Karma laughed at how ridiculous it was of her to be calling her a pup. Karma was far older then Alena and she was far more powerful. And her saying that she wouldn’t take orders from Karma was hilarious. ”Oh, but you will from Odin. Should I call upon him and see what happens or will you be a nice little girl and help me to get him out of here before some of my old acquaintances come to get him?”

Alena opened her mouth to say a snide remark, but Tyson banged the table with his face and said,” Enough! Listen lady, I don’t take orders from anyone besides cops and since your not one your just wasting not only my time, but your own. Your also crazy and I’m not about to go anywhere with a crazy person. So please leave.” He then went back to signing games as if she wasn’t even there.

Karma growled as she looked down at the human who would be the key to destroying the world. How could such a person be so stupid? All she was trying to do was get him to safety and he was acting as if he didn’t want anything to do with her. Clenching her hands into fists she punched the table causing it to break in two.

The line of people scattered and some people started freaking out. The people who owned the store rushed to them and two of the guys tried to grab Karma, but she punched them in the side of the head, knocking them out. The room then went into further chaos as twelve men and women dressed all in leather rushed through the crowd to grab Tyson.

Alena tried to fight them, but she was out numbered and easily beaten down.

One of the twelve guys stopped in front of Karma, making her have to stop and defend her self. The guy’s black hair fell into his golden eyes and his canines were longer then any normal humans. He smirked and said,” Lord Loki and Lord Fenrir knows of what your doing, Karma. You won’t be able to stop us and you will die before this is over.”

Karma glared at him and said with a menacing growl,” You won’t get away with this, Geri. Odin will kill you for betraying him and because of your actions you’re doomed to failure by my hand.”

Geri laughed and shook his head pityingly. “Do you really think that I haven’t thought about that? Karma you are fighting the fates. They won’t let you win, because its already been prophesized that the world will end by Loki’s and his children’s hands… Well in Fenrir’s and Jormungandr’s case by there fangs.” He laughed as if the end of the world was a joke and looked behind him as three guys held Tyson up with his hands bound behind his back.

The guy holding Tyson’s right arm moved his head to the side trying to get his blond hair out of his yellow eyes and said,” We got him, brother. It’s time to go.”

Karma growled and lifted her hands up to her sides. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath in and out. She calmed and said in her magical voice, “Magic of the nine worlds and the unspoken laws of chaos. I beseech you, chaos and void, hear my plea and let none move for the space of the time it took you to become one in creating all”

Everything froze, the people, the cars outside, machines, everything. There was no sound or anything that told of life besides the people standing right in front of her.

Karma quickly got to work. She helped Alena out from under the guys who’d pretty much wrestled her to the ground and dog piled on top of her. Once she was out and safe she got Tyson away from Freki(Geri’s brother) and the other two wolves. She moved Tyson and Kay over to where she’d put Alena and turning quickly grouped all the wolves together and said in her magical voice,” Chaos and void, I thank you for your help, but now I ask for life to return to it’s original state. I offer you as much of my time as you wish to take but ask you not to take too much for I have a long life yet to live and I have lots to do. I also offer you a token of my gratitude. You may take one of my fangs so that you may call on my wrath when ever you need it for you’ve done me such a great favor.” Karma bowed and felt the yellow and black mixture of magic swirl around her. It took a tooth painlessly from the back of her mouth and disappeared as if it’d never been, leaving everything in motion.

Karma stood straight and quickly used her own magic to cause the wolves to go back to Fenrir’s cave. They instantly disappeared with confusion and rage plain on their faces. Geri’s and Freki’s eye’s told her that they would make sure that she was severely punished for ruining there mission.

Behind her Kay and Tyson watched her in amazement. Alena was the only one not very impressed. She’d been possessed by a god before so she knew that what Karma had done wasn’t all that great. The only thing that was amazing was that chaos and the void actually answered and helped her.

Karma turned to them and said,” It is time to go. The sooner we get out of here, the sooner I can fully protect you. Those wolves will soon be back and trust me they won’t be so easy to beat again. They were going easy on us, because they were ordered not to hurt Tyson.” She walked forward and got up in Tyson’s face. “Now, will you listen to me or will I have to drag you out of here?”

Tyson shook his head and rubbed his temples at the same time, which made him look funny. He had a pounding headache and was confused as all heck. He’d never believed in magic or the supernatural. The only reason why he’d even made his game was because he needed the money and he was interested in mythology, even though he didn’t believe it. “Ya, I guess I’ll go with you.”

Kay laughed and said,” I’m going to. At first I thought you were plain nuts, but now I see that you were just… different.”
